Scrap coal block allotment
by premshanker gupta on Sep 13, 2012 03:25 PM

It is now crystal clear that coal blocks allotments were irregular and many cases unjustified. Therefore, like 2G spectrum case, these coal block allotments must also be cancelled and reallotted on auction basis to eligible bidders only. Not doing so will amount to encouraging corrupt practices.

by living dead on Sep 13, 2012 03:25 PM

All the politicians and industrialist including Narayana Moorthy, Azim Premji, Tatas Birla, Ambanis, Jindals and all other names in industries should be sent to jail.

Recover everything from them. Why should they earn crores of profits by wrong policies of government. All the money they got thru incentives would have gone to COngis. Recover everything and ut them in Jail.

Scrap all Policies !!
by living dead on Sep 13, 2012 03:16 PM

WHy should coal be given in throw away price?

Why there should be SEZ zones giving incentives to companies (no excise duties, no sales tax)?

Why there should be tax holidays given by states?

Why should we given incentive to IT companies like infosys who are sitting in cash pile of 20000Cr?

Everything is nonsense. Everything is loss of revenue to government.

Charge everyone and everything. India will prosper !!

SHOULD, AND TAKE IMMEDIATE STEPS TO CANCEL ALLOCATIONS IMMEDIATEL
by subrata banerjee on Sep 13, 2012 03:15 PM

In order to save our probable loss of huge, huge national revenues, the all allotments of coal blocks should be cancelled without further loss of time. Thereafter, the debate may run who is heavily responsible for taking such poor decisions.

Scrap the scrapping sense!!!!

We observe that there is only political motive behind all this hue and cry. Entire country is suffering due requisite political mileage of few involved. This has led country's interest at back burner at the time when global economy is at crisis.
Coming time will have tough questions for us to answer if we dont learn to behave. We shall not forget that the system can not be changed overnight even if it is mandatory. Gradual changes i.e.- Lokayukt, Lokpal, Women empowerment, tribal empowerment, rural development and many others need to be aligned for desired changes in due course of time.
Present acts of ransom will have huge negative impact and will not take much time to revert the growth story altogether. Time is hard and well designed process of changes shall be adopted with extreme patience.

The government should certainly scrap allotments where the allottee has not fulfilled stipulated conditions. That is following due process of law.

NO. However, the Govt can levy the actual cost or recover at reasonable cost whichever is higher. Altnatively, the Govt. may go the auction way.

All the blocks should be reallocated

Its idiotic to say the business enviornment would be desturbed

Infact it would be level playing field for all enterpreiuners
