Where is RR Patil
by Sandeep Parmar on Aug 27, 2012 09:31 AM

Mr RR Patil,
You swiftly banned all dance bars citing morality and crime reasons. What good gutkha does to citizens? Why not ban gutkha on the same lines?

It would be better if a national ban is made and it is treated as a illicit drug.

gutka ban is immediately required in all states ,only vat hike like up will not help.
please visit hospitals and see how a cancer bomb has been created in india by gutka alone.since this can be taken by anyone with no taboo and easy availability.
of course bidi and cigarete also should be banned but let us start with gutka.
no industry will get killed there can be always alternative industry.
do not allow industry to play with health of people

KILLER VS KILLER
by SHALINI AGARKAR on Aug 26, 2012 09:23 AM

The writer want GUTKA to kill people. May be he has financial interests in the industry? Can he show one health benefit of GUTKA? If he is so concerned let him financially support GUTKA by buying into the business, pay for treatment of victims of GUTKA. India remains backward because of vested interests proliferation.

Ban tobacco growing
by shashi daniels on Aug 25, 2012 11:25 PM

Opium poppy cultivation is banned. Why not ban tobacco cultivation? Banning gutkha will only drive it underground as is the case with bhang, charas, ganja and afim. People pay a premium. Interestingly, it is a crime to charge more than the MRP. However, pan shops sell "Miraj" packs, marked Rs. 3 MRP at Rs. 4.0.

Nothing will be banned in karnataka as long as it generates revenue to the state. They care a foot to the people. The present BJP government has lost its moral value to run the state, yet shamelessly sitting breast beating, they will fulfill the dream of kannadigas.
Name a product which is banned from use in India, you will get it in Bangalore and in open market at posh commercial hubs. The main dealers as already known to majority readers are .....

As Gutka is being banned, even use of Cracker should be banned as its hazardous and rampantly employ children. From coning Diwali, sensible indians should refrain from purchase of crackers instead, can utilise the money for some noble cause like helping special children school or old age home where they can spend their time with their families with the inmates distributing sweets and talking with them.

Will the indians do?

In Bihar GUTKA is banned but in west bengal?
by subrata banerjee on Aug 25, 2012 03:27 PM  | Hide replies

The Bihari people have been creating nuisance by consuming GUTKA, PANBAHAR, KHAINI in west bengal. Nitish kumar the chief minister of Bihar must be praised for his many excellent developmental jobs after receiving ruling batton from a most corrupt chief minister Laloo Yadav's RJD party which party , infact, ruined Bihar to the rotten down.
Shoud our chief minister Mamatadi take note of this matter and banned selling all these kinds of tobacco in order to keep our state clean.
