Death is no problem that is inevitable but sufferings of cancer patients during treatment & monitary loss should be kept in mind.

Death for others yes true, then this death is self imposed.
Gutka and tobacco is a product we all know kills eventually it is a slow but sure poison leading to death. But is any one forcing any to smoke, Are smokers being forced at gun point to buy Gutka and tobacco.
Where there are millions of smokers there millions of non smokers as well.
It is all up to oneself weather to smoke or not, No no is asking any one to buy it is smokers own will power.
Ban smoking in all states with swear punishment but it will not vanish, instead it will go underground and will be sold at much higher price with no monitoring of any kind.
It will become more potent and dangerous.
What is needed is education and training against smoking right from junior school days, children who are future smokers should be taught the consequences of smoke at early stage.
There should be strict laws and which should be policed very strictly like it is in the west.
No smoking in Offices and all public places even in shopping centers.
Strictly no smoking in cars if you have children with you.
no smoking in Confined spaces such as Trains and buses which also come under come public place.
No smoking in your own house if you have children in the same room.
And much more and the law is implemented very strictly.
But all this takes place underground. it does not happen in open public places but it does happen in homes, In cars etc.
As I said it all goes underground,.
Remember one is not guilty unless proven so.

Educate your children that smoking is not good and that they should never touch it.
Drum that in their minds.
Instead of sax education in school smoking should be main subject where children can be taught the health risks.
Today's children are tomorrows smokers.
BAN GUTKA AND TOBBACCO ALSO TEACH AND EDUCATE.

By the same reasoning, many other things ought to be banned for being the cause of death or disease, like weapons manufacture, foreign affairs, petroleum, most chemical pesticides, and so on ....

Somewhere in the line of reasoning the balance of who is to die, how many to die, the social class of those who die, etc., are and have to be given weightage instead of mere idealistic statements.

There are destructive processes that can have a constructive part and a purely destructive part. The tobacco industry employs a lot of people and not all of them die due to it. On the other hand the fast food industry kills almost the same number of people as the cancer causes industries like tobacco, but no one even suggests putting a ban on fast food manufacture.

The coin has another side too, though we might not be in a mood to take a look.

This is a good thing, tobacco in ALL forms should be banned including cigarettes. But why the govt. has not banned cigarette manufacture yet? Only printing health warnings on the packs is not enough to discourage more and more youngsters who take up this nasty habit daily. All paan-bidi shops should be closed down all over India.

Gutkha takes buyers away from cigarettes, so cigarette interest of makers is to eliminate gutkha. Cancer has nothing to do with the political decision against Gutkha, it is the power of big business.
