hong kong, singapore, paris, london are not in the list because their population is not going to increase @ the rate to make them eligible for getting into the list of megacities, which is exclusively based on population being greater than 12.5 million.sanition, being unhygenic, lacking basic hygiene etc are not considered for qualifying. if it were so karachi, dhaka, mumbai, kolkata, cairo, & manila would have been sidelined.

its based on population. It is difficult for cities like paris and london to beat Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata on population. We will always lead them.
All our cities cannot assure basics like clean water, electricity, rule of law. Others from poor countries, including Jakarta, can in abundant measure. Jakarta built its foundations under President Suharto though labelled a dictator. Think about it! Democracy without rule of law is anarchy - democrazy. No pains, no gains like in personal lives.

Also could have shown some even better photos of Karachi!! May be a road-side begging, dirty street, etc. Would have been more apt for a 'Pakistan' city!! Hahahaha. Long live 'Western Rich Countries'!!!!!
Howcome karachi, Dhaka and Jakarta one of top city in world. Where is the Asia's Financial hub Singapore and HongKong? Singapore one of busiest airport and Seaport of the world. No Australian City in the list??
