Don't you have any other photos of Indian cities ? Ask for few, they will be provided. No matter how much you belittle India, we are growing and will be the most powerful nation in the world in the near future.

'Near future'. Can you provide a date for that 'near future' when India will be the most powerful nation.
Also please define 'most powerful nation'.
India has more than 70% of the lepers of the world living here. Leprosy is EASILY CURABLE today. Why can 'powerful India' not cure these leprosy afflicted Indians?
World Health Organization provides free medicines (its a combination dose of 3 medicines). Why can Indian government not have WHO come in and distribute the medicines for free?
100s of thousands of farmers are committing suicide in 'Powerful India', including in Punjab - the so called bread basket of the nation. Powerful India?
Over 200 millions children school going age do NOT have schools in Bihar, UP, MP, Rajasthan, Jharkhand. Powerful India?
Over 50% of people living in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata live in slums. 49% of people of chennai live in slums. Powerful India?
UNDP report on Global Human development says: 'Over 350 million people living in eight mainly Hindi speaking states of India live in worse levels of poverty backwardness and illiteracy than the poorest peoples of Sub Saharan Africa'. Powerful India?
So what date have you got in mind when that morning will arrive in the NEAR FUTURE and we can all look out of our windows and be surprised by finding ourselves in 'MOST POWERFUL NATION' in the world?
And what scenes would we see that day when we look outside?

50% slum for delhi kolkata mumbai, 49% for chennai...do you mean chennai is better than these three cities. hello we are talking about mega cities, so forget chennai. secondly tamils in t-nagar use both sides of road as open toilet. Shame on you...kala kowa (black crow).
Do you have only these photos of Indian cities ? India is growing and will be the most powerful nation in the world in the near future, in spite of you you belittling India through such photos.
There are many good things of kolkata. Rediff is undermining our own country's image by posting such derogatory messages. every major city in the world has some horrible slums and pavements nothing only limited to india.

Very well said. I have visited many cities of India, and travelled world wide. Kolkata has to be among the most crowded and filthiest cities...though other Indian cities give it a close fight. But Kolkata is a classs of its own. while local trains of Mumbai are crowded enough during peak hours and one can barely breathe when squished by surging crowds in mumbai local trains, NOTHING can prepare anyone for the buses of Kolkata. Impossible to move a muscle when inside a Kolkata bus. You stand as if you are 'mummified' till somehow you extricate yourself when your bus stop arrives. Absolute nightmare.
Rediff is not the one undermining India's image. If the original poster travels the world, the poster will realize what a city is supposed to be. We need to stop being so proud of our slum cities.
Rediff always finds a way to belittle our own cities, look at the pic rediff has posted on all 3 Indian cities. All the foreign cities have good pictures as if there are no shanty towns there. even the Chinese cities mentioned have shanty towns, except for Tokyo and Seoul probably. Typical slave mentality.

rightly said. was about to say the same thing. Why cant they show some good pictures like bandra kurla complex for mumbai, skyline of gurgaon or noida for delhi and so for kolkata. typical slave mentality. Or should I say this rediff boss is definitely a kutlet.

no, our china have no shanty towns. shanty towns belong to Illegal building, gov find one, dismantle one. That's why, house are Luxury. Chinese gov care about the Infrastructure, Indian gov care about peoples' live. That's why most of Chinese cities like west countries, but salary much lower.

In terms of population both Kolkata and Beijing are megacities...but as per wiki population data Beijing population is more than in Kolkata (difference is around 30-40 lakh)

Thank you for ur info that there is a small town called Sarakki near B'lore!...but when u r comparing Beijing and Kolkata don't bring this as an example rather see the population data...otherwise ur 'sense' of knowledge would be questioned!
