Not sure if they are maintained properly.. Look at the Rust on the Pamban bridge.. They should have used Stainless Steel as it is not too big of a bridge..
The Article is good. We always keep reading only bad stuff like corruption, poverty etc about India and good stuff about other countries. It is really soothing.
