It is heartening to see that Mdm Sonia Gandhi is concerned about the welfare of all sections of Indian society. That's why she is admired by all Indians, particularly the minorities and weaker sections of society.
well thats good idea in principal to secure future of domestic worker. few more things to be added then. 1. agreement on paper, tax calculation salary depending on amount of time, fine for under performance. 2. in case of multiple employer time slot perfectly alloted and should be obeyed against fine for late coming. 3. no "bakshishi" as this will be non profit employment , no cagging around with people in house. then I think its fair. If you cannot afford it do it yourself and force household worker out of job. In US, I dont think indian afford any household. they clean them selve, cook themselves else packed food. yet no indo-american complain. probably thats why they marry ...!!!
The Government should also legislate that the domestic staff also get PF,Pension,Gratuity, health insurance. And these expenditure should not be tax-deduxctible. Plus, add a10 page monthly return to be submitted on line, with digital verification. Non-compliance with any of these measures should entail one-year rigorous imprisonment. Then, the UPA will get a massive mandate in the next elections
she has n't got the foggiest idea that domestics work at 5-6 diff places mainly cleaning and washing and finish their at one place within 2 hrs.and each hse. holder will be reqd to pay min wage for what 2 hrs work?

distribute the domestic work amongst family members and see the miracle. First the house will be impeccably clean and next, since everyone are engaged in work, there will be less viewing of TV and health condition will definitely improve. Further, you will definitely save around Rs.18000 per annum.
This is possible if the government does not force people to engage domestic workers based on their income. Your annual income 2 lacs engage one worker; 2-4 lacs engage 2 workers, 4-6 engage 3 workers' 6-10 engage 4 workers; 10-20 lacs engage a full family.

I've never seen Ahmed Patel, Digvijay Singh, Ambika Soni etc getting off or vacation. By the way dont worry about us, we have humane approach to deal with domestic help.
