Dear we need minister who work for Indian railway not for Bengal Railway.There is acute fund problems In railway Contractors are not getting payment.there is no funds for pas anger Amenities.See the condition platforms.So dirty,you cannot stand in platforms,so dirty smells are coming up.They have done some kind of concrete which is not lasting more than year or two.They should try for metro type sleeper and concreting which last years (as per metro report)Some of the narrow minded people is there in railways they always think negative and discourage all developmental work in the name of price and so called there technical doubts.Railway planning required young and bold decision makers who can take challenges.In railway some of the people are so out dated they should work as ticket collector.we need good railway minister not like ROy of TMC

We need a Railway Minister who goes for safety (trains and passengers), better conditions (trains and railway stations), better quality coaches. Not people like Laloo.

AFTER AK ANTONY BECAME DEFENCE MINISTER ALMOST ALL DEFENCE DEALS HAVE BECOME CRYSTAL CLEAR..CORRUPTION HAS COME DOWN TO A VERY LOW LEVEL IN THE DEFENCE MINISTRY..EVEN THOUGH LOT LOT MORE HAS TO BE DONE..
LIKEWISE ALL THE EARLIER RAILWAYS POSTS WERE HELD BY POLITICAL GOONS WHO LOOTED RAILWAYS AND MADE IT THEIR STATE SLAVE..THE BIHARIS LOOTED IT TO THE QUILT..IF U NOTICE THE RAILWAYS EVEN MADE AN RAILWAY STATION WHERE LALOO PRASADS DAUGHTER WAS GETTING MARRIED..SAME CASE WITH PASWAN AND THEIR GOONS..NOTHING MUCH TO TELL ABOUT DIDI..THOUGH SHE WAS MUCH BETTER..THE RAILWAYS WAS LOOTED UNDER BIHARI LATI FOR LONG..
HIGH TIME AK TOOK OVER AND PURGED THE STATION CLEAN..

Rahul Gandhi must take over the country now. There is no point in still waiting. He has enough political experience.
Designers of Portal for Internet Reservation of IR should have some pity in their mind to indivials attempting to book TATKAL from home, who may be less than .001% of the total booking. They have deliberately blocked the server from INDIVIDUAL LOGING IN for more than 30 minutes ie from 0800 to 0830 hrs, by which time all TATKAL gets over.

You are absolutely right. It is mostly a deliberate blocking. The servers are possibly maintained in Railways department premises, and there is a nexus to make it slower so that public can't access it. Few powerful servers are good enough to handle tatkal request from 1 billion people, not just less than 1 million trying to book tatkal for the day. e-corruption! If railways don't have the resource, please upgrade to more powerful machines.. it costs only few crores.. it will benefit everybody
Indian Railways are run like a public utility at very low passneger fares. This is the case in Europe or Japan too. But in France & Germany the Railways get a lot of Govt. subsidy. The same needs to happen for Indian Railways. But the Railways need to first improve their operations using current facilities before any new projects are allowed. Projects initiated by Lalu Prasad for Bihar, new Locomotive factories, should be CANCELLED as expansion of current factories in Varanasi & Chittaranjan will be a lot cheaper and get going faster. What Indian Rwy needs to focus on is cost - cutting of new projects using technology adopted from overseas. China has been very successful in this regard and now has 8,000 miles of High Speed Rail. There is no excuse for India not being able to do that, say between Bangalore and Chennai or Hyderabad.
