Jharkhand has largely tribal population... Political Leaders polarized people on basis of this to come to power. It simply brought power to thugs like Madhu Koda for eg.

Ofcourse, it is mineral rich etc... but that has nothing to do its separation.

Jharkhand is relatively richer than Bihar due to its mineral wealth of Coal, iron ore, copper, Mica and other minerals the incom from from which was spent for development and other things in Bihar.

Can you shift the seashores and the ports to North India?

Eat your heart out UP/Bihar - the high seas are the source of international trade and wealth since the last 100s of years.

States Differences are Based On historical and Past Negligence
by D goel on May 08, 2011 04:52 PM

D.Goel pkl. afternoon,4.55pm Sunday May 8, 2011.
I for one thinks that current differences in Economic Well -being of different cgroups of indians living in Periphery like Coastal states Goa , Gujrat , Tamilnadu maharashtra and others is due to landlocked character of others like Bihar Pajasthana or UPthat do provide large number of workers who labour At industrial focuses of socalled advanced States.
What ismissing in these states is Industrial enterprise and local initiatives to change their own lot. They must be given newer education and skills to catch up lest it may create problems of Violent upheavals aswe notice in paerts ofjharkhand and Bihar.D. Goel

Small mind and simplistic solution emanating from a few, but that dysfunctional, neurones!
Japan, Russia, Germany, France and China are tech and economic powers without discarding their language and adopting the English language. The answer is universal primary and secondary education and higher education institute with infrastructure for research in whatever language.
