It can happen only in India. In any other country he would have been kicked out for the sufferings he has inflicted on the Aam Admi on whose name he occupied the seat(courtsey Madam)
From the day this guy become PM , India was kept on sale. Sonia & Rahul Gandhi doing the business just putting this poppet as PM. FM & PM taking about grouth rate of 8.6 but they forgot the official inflation rate is 8.3
Budget '11 was "somewhat populist" and delivered nothing by way of structural reforms, no measurements for curbing inflation. No policies to sort out the unemployment issues. No steps towards raising the living standards of poor. PM always shakes head whatever his party members will do, he is just have this PM chair to relax.
It does not matter what the PM thinks. The issue is how he and his Govt has treated the urban midedle class, the Aam Aadmi and the salaried class. It is very clear that these groups have been given the short shrift. Increasing the expemtpion limit by a paltry Rs 20000.oo does not even take care of the huge inflation and the very high prices and cost of living. It seems that this man and his FM - and indeed his Govt - is just not concerned. To add insult to injury, he has started Service Tax on Medical Check ups. Criminal to say the least. It is the responsibility of the Govt to take care of health and the Govt has totally failed. Yet, when people want to take it upn themselves, he has the nerve to tax them. So much for the aam aadmi view to the PM and his Govt.
Next, except for lip service, nothing has been done regarding retrieval of black money. Setting up a GOM does not matter. It should be understand that the perception about the Ministers themselves is suspect. If that perception is really true, then how will they contribute?
Lastly, should not the Govt show something tangible to the IT payers for the hard earned money that they are forced to give away to the Govt. May be something in terms of health care, old age care, some kind of security atleast post retirement? If they get nothing, wht then should they pay IT?

Good assessment. This Govt missed the opportunity to do much more in spite of good growth. If they cannot do much now, then when? This Govt is least bothered about welfare of its people and interested only in the welfare of corporates and lobbies.
