We urgently need small bridges in far flung areas over tiny rivulets so that school going children can cross over safely.

Tallest Bridge
by pai laxminarayan on Jun 18, 2011 03:24 PM

This is being constructed by Konkan Railway.
Just yesterday on Konkan route near Ratnagiri a retaining wall collapsed and services disrupted. KRC can not make a quality retaining wall and now they are constructing tallest bridge! Anyway consolation is there are many experts from europe are involved so KRC will have a check on designs and construction.

Kashmir
by Ravi on Jun 18, 2011 03:20 PM  | Hide replies

India is promoting rail in Kashmir but not other parts of the countries hill terrains, Himachal and assam has somehow, but Uttarakhand does not have any single rail network on hills whereas on other side China has developed rail network along mountain border.
Indian policy of appeasing Muslims in Kashmir is going to fell in deamb ear as Muslims are muslims and they only understand the language of Mullahs and who are sitting in Pakistan.

I am glad that this project is now being undertaken.
by Vishnu Sharma on Jun 17, 2011 03:07 AM

We need to build, build and build honestly in INDIA.

Also after we build we need to maintain and refurbish.

We need to have a contingent of paramilitary forces guarding the bridge after it has been built.

well. not possible to convert a birdge into grabage bin. One will have to walk all the way up. I think lazy ones will just use their backyard. This can prove more challenging in winter, and i bet no one would lke to come to bridge just to thrw garbage.
