Auxiliary units
by Hariharan shankaran on Jun 19, 2011 10:41 AM  | Hide replies

When an Industry is established, many people get opportunity to earn and live an improved lifestyle. It need not be confined to the working persons inside the industries. Many auxiliary units appear around the Industrial area, like, places of worship, hotels, cinema theatres, schools and colleges etc. When the software industries started cropping up, many hotels got established with different product mix {like our Life insurance product mix}if you sit and eat the rate is high, if you stand and munch, a little lower slab rate. All these neo eating styles have contributed to the cost of living index. They do not mind wasteing food after making the orders. Wastage of food thus made add to the number of poor people.

It is called as "booming economy". live like rats in apartments, spread filth around, scurry to office on 3rd rate motorbikes, breed like there is no tomorrow. you have a large population base which is called booming economy.

Why do you hide the cheapest things of India?
by S P on Jun 16, 2011 03:11 PM  | Hide replies

Why dont you publish any information which are the cheapest things from India?
alike
- Goods from village,
- Postal charges by Post dept,
- Mobile charges,
- Cost of comodities,
- Cost of clothes,
- Cost of landline charges,
- Cost of land,
- Labor cost,
- Cost of Kamwali/Maid,
- Cost of Ironing charge in rural area,
- Cost of phone from land-line,
- Cost of tution charge in rural area,
- Cost of Schooling in rural,
- Hotel/ Dhabba cost on highway,
- Corrupt babu/officer of India,
- Corrupt political leader of India

By highlighting higher cost you are supporting increased rate of things. There is a world where costs are also cheaper/reasonable. The cheapest cost shall be highted which are existing inside this country.

You are wrong, my friend. Costs are certainly low, but the quality of services are low too. For example, my maid charges Rs 1000 to just clean and sweep our two bedroom apartment per month, but the quality of cleaning sucks. She wont even rub off the visible dust often. And I have changed 5-6 maids and they are all same. In US, I used to pay 20 dollars an hour for a philipino maid for my one bed apartment. I never even needed to call her more than once in two weeks. I am willing to pay the same here, but I dont get the quality.

And many of your points say "in rural area". The question is - can you live in a rural area and work for the new economy or run your business? Has the government created enough infrastructure in rural areas? If they do, the cost of living will surely start picking up there as well.

The only thing that is really cheap in India is the produce of the farmers. But it has to be looked from a different perspective and the fact that the hardworking farmers are cheated by our government in the form of minimum support prices. And if they bring in the food security bill or whatever as promised by the govt, it will be the biggest curse on the poor hardworking farmer.

This shows that you are incapable of getting work done from your maid. But the fact remains that maids in India provide their services at very cheap price.

Everybody must complain
by Virendra Patel on Jun 14, 2011 11:40 AM  | Hide replies

We all have a right to express our points, even if we do not like the way our country. Other countries do not have stray dogs, animals and cows roaming around our cities. India should also do the same. I don't care if it hurts peoples opinions.

Forget stray animals. Have you seen the extent of garbage in each and every city? Have you seen the quality of bylanes? sometimes main roads? Have you seen the power situation? Have you seen the water situation? Have you seen the pollution? We are living in a hopeless world.

For politicians, they are bothered about secularism, communalism, seat in united nations, terrorism, corruption and so on. But have even one politician talked about the quality of life of the citizens? Do they even bother about it? The poorest people do not bother about all this because they are worried about earning their livelihood. And they form 80-90% of the population. So politicians would never talk of the welfare of the people who are writing on these blogs and use internet. They dont need to.

Dumb brain dead Indians
by Virendra Patel on Jun 14, 2011 11:37 AM

All Indian cities are too overpopulated, overcrowded and overcongested. Stop having babies for 25 years and give time and money to modernize, upgrade and maintain all our infrastructure and social services. We have too many villages. This is not very good and backward for India.
