Exemption limit enhanced is only marginal & ,makes only a little difference for a common wage earner while the relief given to the senior citizens is somewhat commendable.But Pranab is sure to incur the wrath of the non-senior citizen women since along side,he did not increase the exemption limit exclusively meant for them;women,in all their anger,are not likely to take it lightly & the FM may have to correspondingly increase their limit too eventually.He played a clever trick by raising the limit for people of 80 years & above knowing well thatthose whom he gave a new name as "very senior Citizens" fitting in that bracket are very much on decrease day by day as per the Indian Census.Hike in tax rates for AC room rents in corporate hospitals ,beyond Rs 1000/- & in air fare is OK,but the measures he contemplated for containing the black money are NOT clear-some what nebulous & impracticable in reality.;they are very high sounding to be seen in writing.He should have, as in 2000s ,introduced some schemes of Voluntary Disclosure entailing issue of Relief Bonds ,as earlier, which could have unearthed & made lakhs of crores of black money white giving handle for best utility by the govt for the nation's welfare & developmental activities. This is one great belief that he belied.On the whole,the budget does not sound well for any sector.

greedy indians, what you get it will not be enough, just for sake of indivdual benefit keep pointing fingers on others. Please go little good work for community and have global presence and then think of comming to power ABVP.
An increase of 20000 only in the exepmtion limit for taxation is a cruel joke. Ther rate of inflation had been over 10% in the last fiscal, and the relief is only 6%. So we are effectivly poorer thas nbefore, that too in a country which talks of 9% growth rate. What it means? That dispite good growth, people are getting poorer, and have less money in real terms in their hands. Thsi goverment has lost the sense and must be thrown out at an oppertune moment.

when you are pushed against the wall then veteran like Pranab Mukherjee also becomes like a paupper.the budget looks like that i have taken a huge loan from bank and my credit card payment are overdue so where will i get the money to pay my borrower................ poor guy why did you did the mistake at first that your family ( for Mr.Mukherjeee it's the middle class) has to suffer.

For himself and others like N.D.Tiwari, Pranab Mukherjee has cleverly played a master stroke.
By raising the limit for people of 80 years & above -- knowing full well that those with incomes in the 80 age group and few he has a new class of tax payers called "very Senior Citizens".

The only uncommon thing about the common man is the money.Whatever little he had is still being siphoned off through the string of taxes.He is now expected to travel by train,stay in budget hotels,drink on the road and eat just air.Thats the reason why people see international destinations as paradise.
