Tax rates for the billionaires should be at least 40%. Why govt. gives subsidy to the millionaires and billionaires when it should be for the poor? Do these crorepatis deserve subsidy?

Abolish Income-Tax as it is not fair to tax only the organized working class. Instead, impose tax on goods and services purchased as it is used by all citizens. It will be equitable. Luxury items like Cars, Pizza and branded clothing should be taxed more. Necessaties should be taxed little.

You are already paying tax on goods & services. Go 2 a restaurant 2moro, buy food for 500, and u will end up paying 630 ( 12.5 VAT and 12% service chg) VAT is also a tax, it is also going from ur pocket, though u dont notice bcoz it is in the bill and not in the IT return wich u file yearly. So most of us r happy wen we see the low slab rate of tax in the budget & think that we r not paying much taxes... Another form of eyewash from the corrupt govt
Slabs do not help at all. If the middleclass is paying 10% then he is really cutting corners to do so, while it hardly makes a dent in the rich man's coffer! The %age for them should be much much more!
It is not who much tax to be collected from the citizens but the equeatble distribution and planning of tax money for social development that counts, The Government is to look on the welfare of society first through income generation than consumption. It is a sad state of affair because the Mophia of political parties abducted the Real Government and occupied the seat illegally over the period by fooling every Institutions of safe guard Under the Constitution of India That's all.
Confisicate the properties and ill-gotten money of the Babus & politicians with 200% penalty. That would be sufficient to run the country without taxes for the 2 decades.
Is it true %age of people paying income tax in India less than 1%. I heard this news came out in the Jan 20 or 21st issue of the Hindu. Apparently, percentage of people paying income tax in India is 0.8% of the total population. This is because 70% of the population are in agriculture and they don\'t pay tax. And rest all 29% Indians show there annual income below tax lemit and rest show themself to below the poverty line. Based on this fact, the Government is thinking of abolishing Income Tax altogether because it costs more to collect income tax than what is earned from that.
Let the govt collects taxes from politicians dadas and scribes. Ppl dont mind paying taxes if it is uniform. Salaried and professionals are the only ppl paying taxes. IT ppl only harass professionals. They dont go to politicians and dadas. If govt collects taxes correctly, we will have budget surplus.

Looks like the corrupt DMK and others are unhappy with the existing $$ available to loot and enrich themselves ? They wanna more tax payer money that can be looted under more sham under-cover deals ?
The taxes people pay do not seem to make it back to the people in any form. First get the black money back from the rich dudes and then we will pay taxes.
