Babu you ares stupid. Govt collect maximum money by INDIRECT TAXES.
Even a rikhswala and cleaning lady in house is paying taxes on all items they buy from market. Govt survive on indirect taxes. Say service tax, every one is forced to pay. Where all this goes. In Swiss a/c of corrupt politicinas, UPA. and NDA

by Mrinal Dasgupta on Feb 10, 2011 08:11 AM

1.Black money has to be returned to the national coffer with exemplary punishment to the criminals.

2. Corrupt public persons' money should have the same fate.

3. Both shall be at the fastest pace.

4. There shall be a formal and official arrangement of agency cervices in Govt. and Corporate offices for fast track service, agency service etc.

5. All profit-earning govt departments should earn, others hould be sustainable. Ministers and public servants should have codes of conduct, breaking which shall be punishable.

5. Population growth has to be negative for sometime.

6. Education has to be provided for all.

7. Provision of jobs, services and self-earning opportunities for all shall be made.

8. Pharmaceuticals have become too expensive. There is no conspicuous govt. policy, and little govt. control.

9. Drug peddling, Customs related crimes, and related crimes in trade and commerce should go.

10. There has to be provision for euthanesia although with strong checks.

i as a common citizen of Bharath want the money stashed outside our country to be brought back, and GOI should spend all that money on educating the Rural masses and improve infrastructure facilities, rationalise river water distribution, reduce publis spending by our Parliment and Hon'ble Ministers MPs MLAs and Beuracts, reduce IT rates to a single digit figure at the maximum slab.
Jai Hind.

Only UPA can do
by swetambar on Feb 10, 2011 03:32 AM

In my opinion, the biggest sector that contributes more than 23% of GDP that is agriculture has to be brought under direct taxation. There are several farmers who are filthily rich, yet they do not pay a single paisa as tax. I am not saying all farmers, there is a need to evaluate the segments in farmer community. Otherwise the land cost would escalate phenomenally and blackmoney will find several investmenst options

Annual Ritual
by mahesh on Feb 09, 2011 08:52 PM

This article just shows the Annual Ritual being done. I have been seeing such article every year and we idiots put some comments about our expectations, but when finally the budget is released, it is the same story that due to financial constraints, FM has to take a tough decision, not to touch the Tax exemption limits, not able to any other concessions, bla bla. Rediff please stop this Annual Ritual
