Easy solution
by Sachin on Apr 28, 2011 08:31 PM  | Hide replies

There is a easy solution to eliminate corruption...Ban all high value cash transactions by invalidating all bank notes above 50 rupees. All transactions above 50 should be mandatorily done through Cards, Cheques of even mobile banking. Eliminate all taxes and apply only one tax on the transactions done through Cards or checques etc...But the politicians will seldom agree to it as black money is oxygen for them without which they will die

Ur suggestion is inline to Swami Ramdevji Suggestion to recall the bigger denomination of Currency 100, 500 and 1000 /-
This should solve the problem of Bribing Cash, Fake Currency coming from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Black money in Cash which amount to 100 Lacs crores, Cash used during Voting to lure poor people by giving free gifts. This way your 20 % problem of corruption get resolve. Swami Ramdev is going to start the protest on 4th June. It would be interesting to see the developments in our country. Its much needed change india is looking for.

Premji on how corruption in India could be ended
by krantiguru on Apr 28, 2011 08:27 PM

BIG WORDS ... When people reach kind of a peak in their business and career in India, they forget that where they have reached they too had paid bribes, cooperated to get what they wanted. It is impossible in India to get things done with out making compromises. The system is such one can not move ahead. Perhaps he may not have paid directly but some on in his organisation must have done it. Electric connections, power load, sanction of building plans, income tax, etc. etc. What does not hurt in western countries is that the corruption does not touch the common man in his daily life. It is there but at a certain level it could be money, it could be services, it could be anything. But when it comes to light then the law does not make any distinctions like we have in India. The system dilutes the compromises where the judiciary has no option but to let go the people.

in honest competition, should quit at some age and enter politics and guide the country in the same spirit of honesty and justice to all, concentrating on the uplift and welfare of the weakest and poorest in the country, irrespective of the caste, creed or region.

dear khan, your view is apprehensive and immature. India is the land where innumerous sages, great leaders, noblemen born and lived. What about world renowned Mahatma Gandhi, Great leader Lal Bhahadur Shastri, Swami Vivekananda, Daring Indira Gandhi. There are a lot to notify. But short of space, i could not able to. Inspite of your staint post, still I call u with respect. This is the quality of real India

If you want to reduce corruption just do following things:

1. Back all large currency note (500 and 1000) from market.
2. Force for bank payment.
3. Direct Tax deduction from Employer.
4.Promote card payment for shopping.

The Direct Tax Deduction etc is already in place and you dont get any more in that segment of tax. Most tax evasion is from business people whether large or small. That need to be curbed.

Yes refunds are to be sent directly, but the corrupt have found a way to unsurp the system. Swift judgments irrespective of the status with long term behind bars can only save India. The laws are pretty well defined to say about 80% that is why most take care not to accept bribes in cash or kind, but gamblers are part of us humans who will take their chances. The Chinese are ruthless in giving punishments when people are caught, but we still find there is corruption. It can not be eradicated but it can be reduced to maximum percentage.

India VOTERS ; the real voter who is deprived of food, shelter, water, clothes are only concerned which minister can provide them at least one of these. they vote for that.
They are concerned for the next time roti not which minister is corrupt or incompetent.
It is only the educated society ("who dont cast their voting right") understands the difference between corrupt and incompetent, my frnd.

US media
by appu chan on Apr 28, 2011 06:00 PM

While I accept his criticism of Indian media, I dont really see any case to praise US media. They are equally bad if not worse, when it comes to coverage and objectivity. And depth of issue? Aargh, look at the depth to which they have gone for insignificant things such as Obama's birth location and coverage given to clowns such as Donald Trump. I would never ever want to read any newspaper there.
