We can improve the standing of Mumbai. It is in our own hands. Continue to support the Congress Party and Mumbai will soon overtake Shanghai. Dr Manmohan Singh has promised that several times.

But for many many many people like me, who have travelled to few countries, Mumbai is nothing more than a garbage city, fully of slums, ( except few places). So stop fooling the nation. It is still way way way way behind of cities like shanghai.

If you had been living abroad then you would talk differently; evrytime I come again to India it is like coming back to garbage country. And that is so for many western visitors too, I am not inventing it. But I have my eyes open and can see/smell/hear the difference... Sorry that is so.

I have been to both places. Mumbai is almost 25 years still behind. The fools just consider on the basis of construction of buildings. It may be at 7 in descending order ( 100 to 1) and not ascending order.

Sir, it's everywhere in India same garbage. I have been travelling during 2 years crisscross the country... not seen much difference. Exceptions are for Bodhgaya and Puttaparthi and for cities in the hills; maybe those people like more nature and beauty there and hate filth...
