Corruption in Switzerland
by MONISH ROY on Oct 30, 2010 11:47 AM  | Hide replies

It is not correct to say that Swiss is least corrupt. All the corrupt money in the world is in Switzerland. How can that country be classified less corrupt which is encouraging corruption in the whole world?

This is where we think wrong. Corruption is not only bcos of politicians. Dont think that politicians are imported from abroad.(The only one that is, is Sonia, and she has not been seen as a corrupt politician so far, notwithstanding Quttarachi links ). All these MP's/MLAs are from our own country like u and me. We have only so far used politicians/Govt./police/ beauracracy as a punching bag, to hide our own negative points. When the British came, these politician were not there, then how did we sell ourselves to them ? Its in our blood..we Indians are corrupt by nature, and never give importance to logical thinking. We only want to promote emotional thinking. Even the so called literates are never bothered abt India, they only point out the problems as an escape route to U.S. Its bcos we are a very selfish lot who dont think abt overall society - and that is the hard fact. All the rest are excuses. Just listen to a common man's discussoin in a park - the way they talk about a honest politician - they will say he is no good at mobilising mass support and is incapable of managing things. Else how do u think corrupt people who are thought as 'capable' by us, get elected ?

High time Minister Antony woke up......
by Globalcrusador on Oct 30, 2010 08:15 AM  | Hide replies

Defence Ministry is the biggest cesspool of corruption and it is high time Antony woke up from his deep slumber. One has to only visit the DRDO Labs to see for one self the real depth of corruption in procuring items for defence. The stink greets you right at the gate of the organization and this has been going on for the last 3 decades. What is te use of having an ineffective but honest Defence Minister, when the earth under him virtually stinks, thro'out the year.

Points to seriously ponder upon
by Globalcrusador on Oct 30, 2010 05:44 AM  | Hide replies

Looking at the number of corruption issues exploding at the same time in India, it can be safely postulated, that given an opportunity, every Indian, with some miniscule exceptions, loves to jump in and make some ill gotten money. Is it because of innate greed or is it because the laws of the land are weak or GOI's reluctance to act or is it because there really no role models in our politics left to emulate ?

well.. lets correct the laws.. A government is supposed to govern people irrespective of their Morals.. I'm not saying morals need not be corrected, but thats a long way ahead.

Whats the problem in making anti corruption laws at level very strict when there are so many issues?

If India is serious about ending corruption.....
by Globalcrusador on Oct 30, 2010 05:38 AM

It should join other countries in a global front against corruption, esp. wit those countries that are low in corruption, like Denmark, Singapore etc. After terrorism, this is the second best form of putting back a country. Why doesn't our PM moot this idea of setting up a world forum in the fight against corruption during Obama's visit, exchange data on bribes in real time and devise means to fight this on a gloal scale.

Corruption is not the most bugging issue of India
by Abhi Bhat on Oct 29, 2010 07:54 PM

Corruption is not the most bugging issue of India.
It is only a secondary or a derived issue.
The main problem is ambitiousness.

People with great ambitions but less intellect construct some rules/systems that cause problem in real life for real people. So those people resort to corruption to save their skin.
