Money transfer
by arungopal agarwal on Nov 19, 2010 01:57 PM

Failure of Govt. that we could not provide safety and security to keep this money in India itself, corrupt politicians, bureacrats as well as industrialists prefer to hold money in Swiss or Dubai due to lack of faith in Indian Govt. Such conditions would have been created here itself, when Swiss can keep all world corrupt money, why not we can also keep. After all money has no colour, it has same purchasing power, only Govt. makes it white or black.

Yes strong political will ,we need to follow americans and british ,they did it already
I do not know why Pranab Mukherji though said he will get it back not sure if it was just a lip service .
Sri LK Advani says ,he will pursue it seriously ,if BJP gets back to power

By the way it is true.
India has the largest reserves of money in Swiss Banks as per reports. Almost all would be of Politicians.

Compare this with China, where corrupt bureaucrats and ministers are arrested, one day court proceeding, and then .. you know.

It is not difficult for the Economic Offences Wing of the Finance Ministry to get a com- plete list of people with money in Swiss Banks. But the trouble arises when they encounter the names of top politicians in the list and flinch from publishing the names for fear of embarrassing the ruling coalition. Thus, the whole initiative has been in a "one step forward, two steps backward" motion.

Most countries around us have convertible currencies....
by Globalcrusador on Nov 19, 2010 10:40 AM  | Hide replies

Most countries around us like Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong have convertible curren- cies and facilitate outgoing payments thro' Western Union or MoneyGram. None of these countries have gone broke because of these facilities. I wonder if such facilities if introduced in India can bring down the illegal transfers of money.

Simple. Western Union or Money -Gram may be in India but their role is limited to dis- tributing incoming funds from overseas. They can not remit even a single US$ from India to overseas because of present Government policy.

There are few steps which can stop the curruption
by rajeev kulshrestha on Nov 19, 2010 10:20 AM  | Hide replies

There are few steps which can stop the curruption

1. Stop the five hundred and 1000 (one thosand note)it is mostly used for Illegal trade and
Black money Its multyply the generation of black money..
Its goes in buying reale state transaction...
gold, land and properties. Rates of these things gone high as aresult.
2. In real estate govt should ban people to purchase more than two flats in his and spousename, made madatory biometric (UID) for purchasing any property...

In this way property Rate will drop drasticaly and needy people may be able to buy the flats at affordable rate.

3. Stop people to visit the Tax heaven countries
and stop Beuracrates to send there children foreign for simple studies
they are sending there children there and showing that there children are earning enough money they are sending the money backs But it is only the way by these guys are making there black money white...

4. Freeze all the lockers in one day night .
and next morning only those who have legimate money and gold should be given back and all illegal should be deposit in govt account

More than 20-30 thousand crore is lying in the lockers

Agreed with you, adding to it
1-only one account in any national level bank. Lot of black money is also flowing though micro-finance & local banks which had ver strong presence in rural parts of country.
2-every government policy, tender, transaction should be made online. This will help to achieve transparency.
But you know unfortunate part of us is..we are living in a country where rulers had ruined us from centuries, so is the ruling governmet.
All the political leaders know all such counter steps..but they theselves dont want to irradicate corruption. They had good experience and bst thing is that they know the loop holes of our system, but they dont want to fill loop holes, since they are able to make lot of money using such loops.
And talking about the people of india, we had grown up with the common word Adjust. We had learned to adjust in any situation. We all know the high level of corruptions going on day to day and made corruption as a part of us. We all are just busy in our life to accumulate wealth for future, for our children, which we may wont survive till then to use it.And same will be done by our children, they wont be able to use the wealth we created, they will also spend their whole life in accumulating wealth for their children...and so continues..there looks no end to our system..
