Change ur name from true Indian to True Bengali or Bangladeshi, whatever. And If Marwari and Bihari will go from Kolkata, nothing will be in Bengal, as Bengali can't work hard to keep economy alive. It will go back to British rule time, living like a slave.

you also don't get the point at all.

i am not a marwari and i KNOW marwaris are excessively money-minded.

what i am against is the xenophobia that bongs have against all hindi-speaking people for "usurping" their economy.

nowhere else in india is a term like "non-bengali" used. it is used in xenophobic bengal.

is that clear enough?

You have not also got the point. What's the definiton of Bengali? It's the people who speaks Bengali & nothing to do with Bengali surname. Marwaris in Bengal are excellent people, assimilated with local, speak bengali and pariticipates jointly in all Pujas. The so called prabasi Bengali hestitate to speak bengali or can not speak at all. However bengali is declared the sweetest language in the world.

i am not saying that bengalis should abandon their focus on academics and turn businessmen.

what i am saying is that they should not accuse marwaris of usurping the bengali economy.

Nehru family was jeolous of bengalis
by true indian on May 21, 2010 12:37 PM  | Hide replies

Nehru family was jeolous of bengalis so in a planned way they stopped all the industries of Bengal and supported CPM indirectly to lock up all industries. Subash Chandra Bose was much more famous than JLN at one time

Actually there are two types of bengalis one is ghoti the original residents of West Bengal and bangals who have migrated from Bangladesh these bangals are very cunning and are eating all jobs of local ghotis in West Bengal and are spreading in many parts of country whereas ghotis remain to stay in their state and manage with their less income they do not tend to go outside their state to earn

Time for introspection
by curious on May 21, 2010 12:27 PM  | Hide replies

bongs should stop living in the past ans accept the current realities. Calcutta being the old imperial capital gave them an edge over other indians at the time of independance. now where do they stand. Its easier to bost of intelligenstia as it cannot be quantified. As far I know their favourite passtime, other than eating , is discussing trivia. And, they look down upon other indians.

may contain spelling mistakes. Written in a hurry

Nothing gave them an edge sir, they gathered the edge out of their capability and wisdom. Check the History books sir. I agree with you that Bengalis have failed to be dynamic and to go to the next level over the years. Looking down upon other Indians? It is your inferiority complex. The non-Bengalis in WB live happily and fearlessly. In fact in WB the mixed breeds are increasing in number who can speak both Bengali and Hindi fluently.

They are fluent in Hindi and can not speak Bengali. Which history book you are speaking. Communist historian glorify their own history, terming Rabindranath as bourgeois and Netaji as quisling.

...worthy of being on a website of general interest?

it is more suited to a website that is focused on bengal.

it is not surprising the reporter is a bong himself.

and by the way, bongs are some of the most xenophobic people i have met. many of them suffer from an acute persecution complex, especially the ones in bengal, since they feel that their economical clout has been "usurped" by the marwaris but they do not realise that they themselves never show enough enterprise to run businesses on their own
