In India, you end up in paying unreasonably high tax and get nothing back and see very slow development. But in the Western World, you will get lots of benifits like unemployment benifit, social security and health care benifits though you pay high tax. That's why people run to Western Countries. You should also run if you want to save your hard earned money being looted by the Govt and politicians. The fact tis that the tax in the Western countries are not that much higher compared to India. So, it would be back to square-1 if the relief is withdrawn. The Govt always ensures to penalise, errrrrrrrr to tax the slaried class. No problem for the bribes, unaccounted incomes. May be the Govt is indirectly encouraging the "other incomes"..??

NO DOUBT THAT THE FINANCE MINISTER IN HIS BUDGET SPEECH TELLS WHERE MONEY COMES FROM AND WHERE IT GOES TO, BUT THEN IT IS JUST A WAY OF FOOLING THE CITIZENS. THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD CONSTITUTE AN INDEPENDENT COMMISSION SIMILAR TO CAG WHO CAN INFORM THE CITIZENS WHAT THE GOVERNMENT HAS DONE WITH THE TAX PAYERS MONEY. IT SHOULD CLEARLY PLACE BEFORE THE CITIZENS, HOW MUCH MONEY WAS SPENT ON OVERSEAS TRAVELS BY FOREIGN MINISTER, SONIA'S ENTOURAGE, PRIME MINISTER'S ENTOURAGE, PRESIDENT'S COMPANY ETC..., HOW MUCH WAS SPENT ON THE SECURITY OF THESE PEOPLE/POLITICIANS ETC. NO DOUBT THAT THE GOVERNMENT IS A DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED ONE BUT THEN THE POLICIES OF THE GOVERNMENT ARE NEVER TOO CLEAR. WE CAN READ IN NEWSPAPERS DAY IN AND DAY OUT, THAT THE GOVERNMENT HAS DONATED MONEY TO NEPAL, SRILANKA, AFGHAN ETC.. WHEN OUR OWN PEOPLE ARE STARVING.... THE INDEPENDENT COMMISSION SHOULD INFORM THE CITIZENS IF THE GOVERNMENT IS JUSTIFIED IN ITS SPENDING, 'CAUSE THIS GOVERNMENT CAN WASTE LACS OF RUPEES IN PROTECTING TERRORISTS LIKE KASAB, PLACING HIM IN HIGHLY GUARDED PRISONS, GIVING HIM LAVISH FOOD AND GIVING HIM A FAIR TRIAL WHEN IT WAS EVIDENT/CLEAR THE FIRST DAY ITSELF WHEN HE WAS CAUGHT THAT HE NEED TO BE HEADED STRAIGHT AWAY TO THE GALLOWS. SIMILARLY MILLIONS OF RUPEES SPENT ON BOFORS TRIALS.... SO THIS INDEPENDENT COMMISSION SHOULD MAKE THE GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTABLE FOR SPENDING TAX PAYERS MONEY.

Every educated person knows how the money comes in the govt. pocket and where it goes. Budget present in the parliament is just a show made by Politicians, and finally 30% of the total money collected goes in pockets of these politicians directly or indiretly, and you and me can't do anything except watching this tamasha.

Yes agreed and its time for our respected Finance minister, showing no respect for slaried class.
What is the fuss about.Two things-one we are already paying more tax then proposed even by the amended DTC draft. Two-we are jumping and using all kinds of language because of a comment from Mr Sethuraman who is neither earning nor taxed in india and is also not affected by infratructure of India.

thanks.So he is just an imposter.But nice to know that so many people are so worried on 10% differential in tax above TEN LAKHS PER ANNUM.INDIANS are really growing rich.
Govt is taxing the ordinary people but the people earning the cash (bribes)way get all the benefit,bcos, they are innovative and get a tax holiday, tell me how many people are honest, every one in govt service tries a hand at evading tax from ministers to class 4 employees.The one who is hardest hit is the person who tries to earn honestly and leads a simple life.( But who cares).The citizens of western and developed nations pay tax bcos they get the full benefit of the money spent. Why is the Govt revising this after completing the elections and achieving the targets.

Govt is doing this because it knows prices of each and everything are increasing non-stop. To meet their own expenses with increase in prices they also hve to make provision of money for themselves.
