CAR DRIVING & DISCIPLINE
by KIRAN KORLEKAR on Mar 15, 2010 10:59 AM

Really amusing to read comments. Its hilarious & worrysome at the same time. Comments on dowry -- fantastic. Guys & Gals when you drive at least have discipline whatever model you are driving. It will help reduce global warming to least possible extent , may be.In traffic avoid overtaking the car / vehicle in front and do not change the lanes very frequently. Most traffic jams occur due to this mentality only. Let traffic crawl for some time but letnot it stop alltogether. There will be improvement in the movements if you stick to lane discipline. Good day!

You need to overhaul the car's engine (costs Rs 70,000) for every 50,000 kms.

Best cars on the Indian Roads
by Aishwarya K on Mar 14, 2010 01:20 PM  | Hide replies

I don't want to be partisan and quote any specific brand as a great Car. In any case, I think, people who are really car experts may not be squandering away their valuable time on the discussion board! They would as well use their valuable time to make more money, so as to buy more cars and experience them.
Let me give some advise in the matter ( I am incompetent to advice, which pl, note ! )
A friend of mine used to be always short of money ( that also means that the person was continuously borrowing all the time ) When I was analysing the precarious situation, it was found that the person was only using petrol for about 500/- ruppees a month. The friend was pure vegetarian ( less cost of food )etc., etc., When the car was sold after 18 months of use, it was found that , cost price diff of cost and selling price Loan interest was a staggering Rs 8,500/- p.m.. The person unwittingly believed that the cost of the car was only Rs 500/- p.m. Let us be vigilant against these types of misconceptions !

Interesting. He was traveling around 150 km per month ( petrol Rs50 per liter, average 15 km per liter ). He could have used taxi to travel 150 km per month and could have spent at most Rs 3000 per month ( taxi Rs 20 per Km ). I have seen many elder couple in chennai , thogh having lot of money do neo keep car, but use auto / taxi , and that makes sense.
But only thing missing is being a proud owner of some Car. This applies in the case o fur friend as well.

dumbo,
almost all the models of "Toyota" are now developing underlying engineering problems and this lafda company's gol-mal is now surfacing daily and in the highly competitive and conscious US market thousands of cars are being re-called daily for rectifying problems. At this rate Toyota will have to throw up it's hands and close doors.

WagonR is a "dabba" with 4 wheels, basically a reject model abroad. For that matter the sly-eyeds are notorious for dumping their reject models into the 3rd world, where the public goes ga-ga over flashy paints/chrome get-up.
