Double the Fuel Prices and Provide Cheap Public Transport
by pradeep J on Jun 28, 2010 03:43 PM  | Hide replies

Even if increasing fuel prices is not good for consumers but it is necessary as per the international market. If government wants to decrease the demand of fuel and maintain fuel prices then Government should actually work on Cheap Public Transport. Increase the Car prices so that not eveyone can buy the car, In India Car is a status symbol but no body think about Pollution and diseases from pollution.

In Singapore public Transport is so cheap and car prices are very high. In this case many high class people also travel by public transport.

But our corrupt govt will not take decisions to manage it well.

Over there if you spit on the street also you would be whipped. They love their country dear and here we are all busy in corruption. Blaming any political party is shame for us only as we promoted them and took them granted as our God father.

Petro Price Hike
by RAJKUMAR JAIN on Jun 28, 2010 03:33 PM

It may be inevitable to deregulate the prices of Petroleum products but why to burden the Public who otherwise is dying of high prices of all commodities. Why not the Govt. reduce the Taxes which are more than 50%.Why VAT was first raised in Delhi?? Why not uniform Vat rates??
REDUCE TAXES ON PETROLEUM PRODUCTS.
Kerosene is 80% used in Industries and mixing in Petrol/Diesel.Why subsidize that???
For BPL families let the colour of Kerosene be such that it is detected easily if mixed in Petrol/Diesel.

Petrol Prices
by Sudhir Pant on Jun 28, 2010 03:32 PM  | Hide replies

Reading all the above suggestions, it's high time government to come out with some innvative ways of cutting cost and instead reduce the price at the end of the value chain . Reduce Tax component, which is almost 50% , out of this 50% is siphoned out through curroption rout.Improve operating efficiences of refinaries , make the supply chain efficient. How in Japan the petrol prices for the cunsumers are same as India , where as they import 100% crude ( India imports 75%) and cost of living in Japan is about 5 times that of India.

India does Import and import in much lower % as in India we have refinery which can serve atleast 55% of the need for crude.
All reports are an eye washing with complete viel on it.

Selective price rise
by ashok rengasamy on Jun 28, 2010 03:28 PM  | Hide replies

If it is envitable to deregulate the prices of petroleum products, at this juncture government should rise the price of petrol alone. Diesel for transportation should be subsidised as this would directly reflect on the inflation. Kerosene for indiividual consumer should also be spared. Diesel for industrial appilication for firing/genset should de-regulated.this would minimise the burden on the common man and control the price.

Price rise can only happen if here is 3rd energy already in use and Govt wants them to be used rather than using the basic energy heavily. where is the 3rd energy in use India?
If we only think about car then just imagine the price of a battery operated car and that to a Hybrid. How many can afford it?

Once again rediff back into congress propaganda... covering the wrongs of Congress by just pasting some comments of Congress minded writers or Congres financed writers...

BUT I HAVE TO ASK 1 QUESTION???

Why doesnt the subsidy cut issue was raised during General Elections? ON the contrary fules prices were slashed by Congress Government, a month before the General Election. Why and where was the price hike and all at that time???

Bloody Congress not taxing IPL, 1000,s of crores of Rupees SCam goin on, 1000's of crores of rupees going into drain in some unsustainable projects, etc. This is where the money is going into ...

BUT WE THE PEOPLE OF INDIA... are the biggest fools to play like a puppet in the hands of Congress... NOW SUFFER for your sins... so called common people... in my view you deserve it... cause you lack the brains and will to see beyond your basic needs of food, clothing, shelter and procreation...

You want fact? Calculate this:-
What was the price per barrell when BJP came into power?
What was the price of Petrol that BJP made it rise?
Compare this with current scenario.
You would now think what you asked.
Happy calculating :-)
