Beware
by ABHIJEET PODDAR on Jun 21, 2010 10:34 AM

This trend has become very common now days..Even I have recived at least 4-5 emails or sms every week from admission consulatant saying that want to pursue MBA form new-aged B-school with blah blah features, then contact us.. we deal with following B-school..admission gurantted..All the b-school given in the list are not well recognised..this is a marketing technique..students must be aware of this thing..This is similar in the line of what has happend to many students in karnataka who want to pursue engeering..they paid money to the agent..to get the admission seat through management quote..in pvt engineering colleges..

Proliferation of Institutes
by Balan Iyer on Jun 21, 2010 10:09 AM

As per the practice of our country, there is nothing called Original Thinking in any field,
ranging from house hold utility items,to films,
to soft drinks and hard drinks,to medicines and
ultimately to MBA learning. We are pathetic copy
cats to the extent of chasing out of value any
new International Development in any field by
mindless and cheap imitation of it.Barring few
top notchers,majority of Management Institutes
just entice students,not enroll students,with
false promises of 100% placement. They also brag about having the best faculty, when actual
ly there is a crunch situation in this crucial manpower area as the the creamy layer of the
academics could either be found beyond the fro
ntiers of India or in the reputed Indian Insti
tutes. The mushrooming growth of such cheap but
costly in fees structure institutes and their equally cheap agents is a serious problem to
India.

paying a consultant/agent
by Gursharan Singh on Jun 21, 2010 09:49 AM

In kapur also this trend has picked up. barring one/two management colleges are having many agents and pay good amount for each admissions. they have poor faculty,no placement, poor aptitude screening.
it is better students go for distance education MBA than going to such colleges.

They will be able to work along the course and save lot of money.

before or after exams
by suresh iyer on Jun 21, 2010 09:09 AM

Indian education system thrives because of the importance being placed for education at family and social circles and quality education if there is something like that is scarce. So right form KG till esteemed post graduate courses we have fixers and consultants. While the MBA seats are sold sacrificing entry criteria norms, schools in KOTA etc prepare students thru tuitions and classes for which also there are agents...so before or after graduation and even at ABCD level we have fixers....we have it for all now..rediff is just reporting what is an already established norm..cant undo it..it should report something wrong and new which can be prevented or stopped..dont forget this is India and we will say it is like that only.
