Just decleare one big project and see the oppose by so called politicians, ngos and best known name common man. They will loot putting the name of common man and ultimatele come for the inogration of a dirty structure caused by babus and politicians which will be the scrap balance after sucked in money by using excellent currupt practices.
The main discussion here is why cant India built such kind of bridges? Do we have any rivers here now? All rivers stink with rot and human waste and the politicians have encroached that too.
built some 20 years ago. It was considered a wonder when it was built. Now it has been superseded by hundreds of bridges in every aspect of bridge construction. Whoever collected the information could have done a better job of selecting bridges that truly represent China's outstanding achievements in infrastrcuture.
China has not been ravaged by Mughal & British invasions. Rather, they have fought every invader strongly as one nation. Indian rulers, barring a few, had joined hands with the invaders to sell off the motherland for a pittance. And the Mughal & British are still creating problems in India in the form of organised and discrete terrorist acts. Are all these problems faced by China? China can crush any liberation movement with brutality. Remember Tinanmen Square? We Indians may be hopeless, but we live on hope.
this is not possible in india. people can be lured by political parties by just offering mutton and biriyani. where is the question of patriotism and principle. if given a chance everbody try to loot. all corrupt politician, or govt. officere are our distant relatives. who is to be blamed.

its not that it is impossible in India.. India does not need such bridges. India is a peninsula and what do you connect using such bridges. Chennai and kolkatta?
India has yet to master the art of building even a simple bridge. Drive on any bridge in any part of the country and you will get a bump atleast while entering or exiting the bridge. Unlike the west, we cannot or have not made a smooth entry and exit on any of our many bridges.
I do not know of Chinese bridges but this feature is more a PR stunt by China more than anything else. Indians are apt at making more noise while the Chinese do the same in a better manner.
