setting up SEZ
by T S on Jul 11, 2010 07:23 AM

It is very much clear that no big infrastructure can't be set up without acquiring lands. Agricultural output from one acre of land doesn't yield more than 20K/year in conventional farming, where as govt is paying 40 times of the price. So govt has more than justified the land price. But people are greedy and asking for many more, and complain that govt. has cheated/exploited them. Is it not greediness? The entire Indian democratic system is based on individual gains at the cost of nation. And, people ask why India is lagging behind China? The reason is India is a country of people/politicians who are very selfish and greedy, and want to block every path of development where don't want to see them loosing a single peny.

They will not let a Dubai/Hong kong coming to their own backyard, but instead keep their unused lands, and send their keens to these places for jobs(slavery). Wonderful!

by OM on Jul 11, 2010 01:22 AM  | Hide replies

This is another propaganda by Christians against BJP govt in Karnataka which has really done well as far as administration is concerned. There are even bigger crimes done by SEZ lobby and govt's in other parts of country.

SEZ and politicians ....
by Shailendra Kulkarni on Jul 10, 2010 10:19 AM  | Hide replies

Almost in each and every state in India, land grabbing is related to the polticians and corporate(or builders) nexus. Now, our smart politicians have got a new idea of land grabbing in terms of SEZ.. These corporates claim that locals will be getting jobs!!! This is most cunning picture which just fade away after few years and no one looks after companies loot the lands of locals.. In India, when any farmer (or adivasis) give land to government project, dams, or so called SEZ's they are become landless and totally beggars!!! Then after few years they migrate to nearby cities hoping a good future where they are made to work as labourers and other small jobs on low wages.. THEY ARE TOTALLY RUINED!!! SO, just say NO to give any sort of land to government or any SEZ. If government is really interested in creating jobs (which they are not), there is enough other options available ...

Dont use political language, this only suits for rich/powerful, people like me and youcan only scream but no one listens until we are rich and powerful no matter you are hindu/muslim/christian, BJP is an example for it as in NDA defence/sports minister position was given to differnt religions, i consider BJP as the only secular party in india.

dear friend it is a real dielema, if no one gives land how will development take place, i think only way is to compensate them generously,as these big co. are rich why not pay generously to a poor persons land.money always speaks, and these farmers will not protest.

or simply occupied it by planting a cross on poramboke land???

The chur_ch does very dirty and underhanded stuff. All over India. If the authorities take action (which they seldom do), then the next strategy is to cry "Persecution" and make a huge noise in Western countries, to paint Hindus as intolerant and embarrass India.

SEZ Not at the Cost of Agriculture and Farming
by Puvvada Sekar on Jul 10, 2010 09:41 AM

The Land acquisition should not be considered under SEZ at the cost of Farming and agriculture. If at all lands are to acquired, they should ensure equivalent amount of farming land is provided and rehabilitated to better amenities and facilities. The government should also consider agriculture and farming in par with any other industry. All the farmers whose lands are acquired should be compensated properly and all the land owners should also be made stake holders in proportionate value to the extent of land acquired from each owner, which will help them to better their economic status along with the development. Any alternate industry getting benefited at the expense of Land owners should be put on hold until all disputes and benefits to the land owners are completely met.
