Officials of Indian PSUs like BHEL and NTPC appear to be the beneficiaries of bribes that were doled out by a California-based valve company to bag lucrative contracts, mostly for tools used in the construction of power plants.
Prominent among these Indian companies are Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd, Maharashtra State Electricity Board, Haryana State Electricity Board, National Thermal Power Corporation and Bhilai Electric, according to documents submitted by the US Department of Justice before a US court.
It is possible that the details of the beneficiaries are listed in the sealed court documents, but no names were immediately known.
California-based Control Component Inc (CCI) on June 31, 2009, pleaded guilty before the US court to having committing bribery in 36 countries from 2003 to 2007.

Pranab, you are absolutely correct. Not only paddy cultivation season. It is useless scheme. I have seen how these workers are doing the job in many villages. They are not even doing productive job 1 hr per day. This is one of the main reason for price hike of agriculture products. As a former I suffered lot because of unavailability of workers due to this scheme. I would be happy if workers are really utilized by this scheme and get benefit.
1. PREVENT CORRUPTION. 2. PREVENTING CORRUPTION BY STRICT LAWS INCLUDING DEATH PENALTIES. 3. PRESIDENTIAL FORM OF GOVERNMENT. 4. PRESIDENT TO BE DIRECTLY ELECTED BY THE CITIZENS OF INDIA 5. THE PRESIDENT SHOULD ATLEAST GATE 50% VOTES. 6. PREVENT TERRORISM AND IMPOSE STIRCT AND HARD LAW FOR THAT. 7. AGRO/TECH/-INDUSTRY AND HUGE EMPLOYMENT 8. STORNG DEFENCE

@Manu Verma : We should'nt feel shame about population we have now. Our population and young workforce is the biggest gain for India in coming years.
Europe and other places will pensioners paradise soon. The govt.'s will struggle for giving pensions and will have high taxes from working forces.
I guess the current population for India is good. We need to balance from now onwards...

No sarcasm Sir. There is element of truth. We are unfit for democracy. Ind democracy is just farce. Look at our Democ. In a quadrangular contest with 100 votes,50 abstaining, a person getting 13 votes is declared elected as MP while other three had secured 12 votes with one invalid. Is this called democ? The people's act must be amended: A contestant must get 55% of total votes to be elected as a MLA/MP. and no person above 70 can be MP/MLA. Till then this country will never improve.Minimum edu qual for MP/MLAs, 100 free criminal record free background for contestants- these are must. Mullu defended his MLA with criminal- murdercrime records- Pappu Yadav- saying that like JP Narayan he had forgiven the past sins of Pappu! Where is JP and where is Mullu? No indian has any right to utter the names of JP/ Panditji ( our first PM) and the the first Prez of India and Mahatma. And Mullu compares himself with JP! one more: Govt may declare LAND as property of state. No one can buy land in his name/ binami name. Unlike a TV/ Car/ Flat/ house, no one has created the land and no one can own it or sell it. finished- atleast 50 % corruption is out.Compulsory sterilisation after 1 child. china/ Japan did this! Most of European couple have one, even AV Birla's father and AV himself had only one child. our Agri Min has only one child. When rich people have only one- all platform dwellers/ poor Biharis/ UP citizen have 7/8; so is the case in TN/AP. Sterl must cover muslims too.

not a bad idea. Only very stern rule will make an indian work. from 0 in 1949, China has become Economic/military super power. China's rule will help india to grow faster.
Unlike in India, America prevents corruption by imposing Death Tax. Whoever inherits your wealth will have to give 55% of it to Govt. * personal property (such as a home, cars, furniture, paintings) * business assets (property, machinery and inventory) * investments (stocks, bonds and real estate)
most of the farmers produce wheat or rice. the government buys it at a stipulated price that sustains the farmers. they can shift to vegetables and other cash crops that are not bought by the govenment. the risk is that the price fluctuates and the sort of guarantee that rice, and paddy has is not available. a certain risk is needed if one wants to break out of routine.
the area where most of the poor live is shabby, dirty and not hygienic. if they can keep their houses clean and neat, the surrounding litter and droppings of animal free, the drainage not clogged, the value of that locality increases and along with their property. why it is not often attempted is most do not own their residences and the betterment they do, does not reward them. but often i find the low income group housings government funded and managed also fall into the earlier category inspite of the fact that most of the residents are the owners. cleanliness and hygiene is a culture. it needs education, awareness, consciousness, a regular income with some surplus built into it to become part of self.
earlier the railway coaches were littered with cigarette and bidi butts and after the smoking was prohibited inside the coaches with punishment and or fine they are not visible. the leader has to guide or lead under such circumstances.
innovation, creativety or change needs space. the space can be education, finance, demand or urgency and necessity.
