Pawar should read this piece, the comments and go into hiding
by Melanie Kumar on Jul 10, 2010 06:15 PM

I wish that Pawar could read this piece and the comments. It is indeed time to let him go but he will extract his pound of flesh and ensure that someone else from the NCP replaces him. What is the greed that promotes this politician to neglect his ministerial portfolio to attend to cricketing responsibilities! I think the time has come for the government to bring in a law to prevent politicians from being involved in sports bodies. It was indeed surprising to find that ex-PM, John Howard, of Australia was also keen to throw his hat into the ICC ring. How Sharad Pawar thwarted him in his plans is another story, of course.

Gift a Kick
by Ashish Singh on Jul 10, 2010 06:14 PM  | Hide replies

The government should give due credit to Food & Agriculture of India rather than involving more in politics. We need to understand the food inflation situation in India and Mr. Pawar have no time to work on a long term policy and short term price control policy on the same. The govt. should give a kick to Mr. Pawar as he did politics in India and have no concern for Indian agriculture which is the key element to drive GDP of India.

Perf evaluation of ministers is a must......
by Globalcrusador on Jul 10, 2010 06:08 PM

Any performance that can not be quantified or measured is useless. It is high time GOI set up a perf evaluation & monioring group drawn either from IIMs or ASCI to eval perf of each of the ministries to keep them on their toes. Non- performing ministers must be weeded out at the end of each year. Else, public money will continue to wash down the drain as at present. MMS has wasted all the mandate he received at the time of election to put thro' corrective measures such as this. To be profes-sional and objective, such a monitoring group must be independent and outside of govern- ment's reach, so that it is not intimidated,.

IT IS A MIRACLE HOW AMERICANS ARE SAVING THE LIFE OF PAWAR
by srinivasa rao on Jul 08, 2010 08:49 AM  | Hide replies

PAWAR, A GUTKA ADDICT HAS MANDIBLE CANCER AND WITH REPEATED SURGERIES (ACCORDING TO NEWS PAPER REPORTS, HE UNDERSENT ANOTHER SURGERY IN USA), HIS FACE DISFIGURED AND HE CAN'T EVEN SPEAK COHERENTLY. HE HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING TO THE COUNTRY EXCEPT FOR HIS OWN CONSTITUENCY, BARAMATI AND THEREFORE WE CAN'T GIVE CREDIT TO HIM AS A NATIONAL LEADER. HE IS MORE INTERESTED IN SEEING HIS DAUGHTER AS THE FUTURE P.M. AND A STRONG BELIEVER OF DYNASTIC POLITICS. DUE TO HIS CORRUPT METHODS, SUGAR, FOOD GRAIN AND PULSES PRICES HAVE SKYROCKETED. HE IS A CURSE TO THE INDIAN SOCIETY. MANDIBLE CANCEROUS PATIENTS DIE SOON AND THE AMERICANS ARE GIVING A FRESH LEASE OF LIFE TO HIM.

Mr sharad Pawar has to match politician-businessmen of North and south put together .This is what happens when you deny a capable politician his legitimate position.Deception by congress high command is being measured up by deception. When giants clash the outfall is tragic.Mr Pawar needs rehabilitation or he will unleash more destruction.Beautiful pawar was rendered ugly by the Coterie at Centre.A coterie of YES MEN!!

UPA Ministers
by sridharan r on Jul 08, 2010 08:39 AM  | Hide replies

Mr Sharad Pawar may be a shrewd politician but a great failure as Agri Minister. He continues in the Govt. as the PM has no say in the matter. Result: Poor performance of the ministry and consequent suffering of the people. We have more misfits and corrupt ministers in the form of Telecom Minister and Chemicals & Fertilizers Minister on whom also the PM has no control. There is only remote control for them from Chennai and Cong.President who really enjoys maximum power without any responsibility. The enemy for our country is very much within and in our political system, thanks to the dubious democracy in place. This UPA Govt. is the worst our country ever had but the opposition is also to weak to stand up to them.

Wasted Talent!
by B M on Jul 08, 2010 08:35 AM  | Hide replies

In his early days as Maharashtra's CM, Pawar displayed exemplary administration skills. Unfortunately, he turned more and more towards corruption and political manipulations. Instead of using his administrative skills to good effect as a minister, he has assumed a laid back posture just intent on hanging onto power and securing future for his next 4 or 5 generations.

Bad can be accepted if it comes as a package with the good. There are corrupt politicians who have also done good work. If Pawar had made good contribution to his ministry, his corruption can be ignored (as we ignore for many politicians). He is approaching 70 and the drive to do something good is completely missing. Its good if he quits Indian politics and concentrate on phukking ICC instead. Atleast, we wont be sukking Indian tax payer's money.

pawar is hungry for money and power . The can be termed as the most corrupt minister in the annals of the political history of india .

He nurses an ambition to become the next PM of india the attempt which was thawrted in 1992 by some of his colleagues . he should be sacked immediately

Pawar had asked PM to reduce his burden, as if he was working as a full time minister. PM who knows Pawar himself is a total burden to him, must shed him instantly now that he has asked for it! But our PM is a drag and will wait for signal from UPA Chairperson instead.

What is the use of such
by Raghavendra Ravi on Jul 08, 2010 08:33 AM

He spends more time politicking in cricket and sugar industry than in the government. Powerful money bag - He split from congress because he could not accept Sonia Gandhi - now he goes and falls at her feet! He sacked P A Sangma because he wanted NCP to stick to original agenda. Congress also has no other go - corruption is a non issue in India. MMS is an unelected prime minister - whither democracy?

R u able to revolt aginst your boss?. Pawar showed courage to be against the Gandhis when none of the politicinas had guts and he is in the cabinet on his own terms and conmmsitions and not at the mercy of Madom Sonia.
