Next time they should build a car which can take flight like a helicopter. So that there wont be the need for a runway with atleast 2500 feet. Need for a helipad should be optional.
D. Goel ,Pkl, afternoon 4.30pm, Friday, July 2, 2010. Terrafugia is the name given to the flying Car designed by NASA designer working with MIT ,and now issued Licence by US Licensing authorities for commercial manufacturing .Well the mixed mode of travel is not cheap. Its Cost in Indian Rupees is about 10 Millions. Still some 50 orders are already placed for first Deliveries, . they shall have to fly from Run-Ways to the length of 2500 Meters at the minimum. They can easily and automatically fold Wings and make it into a car by flip of nobs! Quite a zany idea. One wishes soon lesser price is arrived at to make it for many more users everywhere in the world. D. Goel
Car can be driven by normal drivers but it needs a professional pilot to take off, drive and land. Hence can a normal person get a pilot training and licence so easily like car driving licence.
Answer for this is still unanswered by the inventor.
In a traffic jam where is the scope for extending the wings? Again if many people try to fly from the same jam location will it not result in another jam in the sky? JAYARAMAN

supposed to use the service lane which is quite empty in US, but occupied all vehicles in India !!
If I am stuck in a traffic jam, there is no space for the wings to spread, so you cannot take off immediately. Further like any other aircraft, this also needs to follow a flight path height; Invention is neverthless worth it. Most of the inventions are not of much use in the initial stages including the INTERNET - We have to give time for this to evolve...and very soon you will see vehicles climbing up from the traffic landing in another area and take the road...give it 5 years and see what happens..
If there is traffic jam, how can you take off like a plane. Moreover, when you want to spread the wings, it will not be possible because some other vehicles will be beside you.

Some die in the womb; some are stillborn. some die juvenile deaths.
Such fugias bugias die juvenicle deaths because they are not practical. They are born out of fancy giving little regard to the practicality of the machine.
This kind of machine is just not practical, Mr. Indian Reader.
Someone from Bharatvarsh has already booked one of these fancy things. However, it would never run on the Indian roads and also fly from there. It is just not practical. Try to understand.
