India (Infy) getting richer. A boon or a curse?
by Prasanna Thyamagondlu on Jan 14, 2010 04:11 AM

There were lot of readers who used to oppose my blogs on unregulated land grabbing by Infy kind of companies.
Now I see lot of bloggers complaining about Infy's unethical land greed, tax evasions & other issues. Too late now...

S M Krishna now goes preaching the farmers not to give up land. Ashok Kheni wants more land for himself than for roads. Government collects taxes & yet gives away everything to private parties to run the show. With SEZ kind of policies, rich companies get their way to grab whats left with farmers of the country.
Govts themselves dont have any land for their projects. They keep notifying land belonging to farmers & awarding them to rich companies. Religious organisations are not behind either. Everyone wants land at government rates to buy. It does seem to matter who loses it.

With India getting richer, the morality & ethics of people are degrading further.

Common people & farmers now fear that either inflation, SEZ, land mafia will drive them out of their homes & they end up in slums.

Wasn't it Indira Gandhi who ruled that, whoever tills the land gets the land? Does Justice Dinakaran till the 400 plus acres of land he owns?

Shame on us.

Not an Infosys Issue
by John Seeli on Jan 14, 2010 04:05 AM  | Hide replies

Be real...Is there any reason to call the name of Infy here?
With all due respect to wards Karnataka: All three people are from Karnataka...How about an interview with Yeddurappa and talk about moral science class to all the companies established entered and prospective...???

Dont you get it? From names such as Abhishek Gupta & Chakraborty that they are not from Karnataka. Why would a Karnataka guy go to West Bengal to get a 12 year old girl to do household chores.
They sell kids on highways & streets in Andhra (as reported by rediff) to serve these IT rich engineer families.

I beleive moral teachings should come primarily from parents. Gandhi, Tilak & many other freedom fighters had good parentage.

It would be hard to find a honest son of a corrupt father. Isnt it?

Good Job Infy- will OTHER corps do the same ????
by Krishna Swamy on Jan 14, 2010 03:52 AM

Well done Infy , at least they act against evil deeds - true to their transparent nature, what about other companies , may be they PROTECT evil.

Indian media loves bad news from Infosys and glorifies it becos it was started by a FW caste Hindu.

Media Hype
by John Seeli on Jan 14, 2010 03:51 AM  | Hide replies

I call it a media Hype. Media stomach is sore because Infy actually flourished during the recession. I am not an Infy guy to be real.
Lets take an example: In Goa a foreign girl was raped & murdered became a big news.. does that mean all Goa people are rapists. Absolutely no! And the news media never said that under the umbrella of Goa govt this has happened. Similar this are happening arond the globe and no one can claim the Why partiality here? 3 idiots ruined the fame of Infy..May be all because of media's wrong reports.

How about saying a citizen of India tortured a girl 12 yrs old, a citizen of India made a hoax call??? My advise to Media: Please do not call the name of the companies into the mire and degrade yourself.

To make the pot sweeter: I admire the quick response of Infy to send them home even before they were convicted. Infy do not want to take any thing personal at the same time do not want any dust collecting on their chairs.

Good analysis. The 3 engineers acted at their personal capacity. Why Infy & suspension gets into picture?
The land mafia, Infy gets the coverage by some media chamcha. That all it is.

Who will punish Infosys for land grabbing?
by just passing on Jan 14, 2010 03:20 AM

Infosys is getting hoiler than thou when it itself is a torch bearer of unethical practices from visa grabbing, tax dodging, land grabbing, awards doctoring, etc.

Wannabe, would have been, should have been journos, what has the fact that those three criminals committed crime, has any bearing with the fact that they were Infosys employees?

If at all Infosys was to be mentioned, it should have been a by-line, why is that a headline, imbeciles? What do you eat and from which part of your anatomy do you consume food?

Mohandas it is better to do an interospection of your companies past activities by some senior guys, (let's not look into the personal side, since it may take pages and pages)

Do you think the HR / recruitment team in your company is / was clean of bribe / kickbacks.

Do you think the H1B business you 10 -12yrs back was adherent to the laws and rules of US and the company did not file even a single false reason for VISA

Do you think procurement team is into percentage ( as high as 50% I heard)business.

Can you put your hand to heart and say... Yes my company is clean.

All I can say is....Let he who is without sin stone

Charly, that doesnt make Infosys a bad company. They are good and as you grow there are people who is involved in different practices. As you notice, you take actions taken by Infosys are swift and that is what is expected.

Provide valid information for the violations and then see if they are sacking them .Particularly kickbacks on recruitment.

This is nothing but further proof to the age old adage - Everything is right until you are caught. I am not saying these 3 guys are innocent but there may be 300 other guys who are equally wrong but lucky enough to escape
