Central Budget - Industry least benifitted
by susarla suryaprakasam on Mar 01, 2010 02:28 PM

I feel Pharma and Bio-tech occupy most important after IT, yet they were all neglected in the current Bhazana of Rural and Agri Development, where any amount of allocation goes un-returned, with diminishing yields and increasing vagaries of nature and population gloom and debt boom. Divert people to employment psyche and reform for large holdings and mechanisation / automation with hybridisation and BTise all crops, under the guidance of IARI.

Accounts with Swiss and ABC Bank
by Surendra Borkar on Mar 01, 2010 02:27 PM  | Hide replies

I had hoped from FM, who tried to became PM, in rush, after Rajiv death, to do some in Black Money. The Rs.1000/- currency, then VD Scheme, and VP Singh, policy to give and take policy were increased deposit of central funds. Since, he belongs to West Bengal, I had some hope of left thinking, but I failed to identified and understood that this Budget was prepared by PC, even he is not in FM Chamber. I tries to gets some information about the Politicians and Top Officials account with Swiss and ABC Banks. The report of two banks states that there are deposits of Rs. 786,00 Crs, in the name of top officials and top leaders from all political parties. It is surprised to note from the news paper that George Fernandes, who started his carrier from P D'mellow, Rd, nerver thought about marrigae when he was in Mumbai. As soon as he shifted to Bihar, he got married with Laila Kabir. When I went to Gopalpur, in Orissa state, in 1982, on duty, I was just moving in the evening on sea corner, I saw huge building of 64 rooms, initially I thought that it is hotel, when I asked to Watchman, he told me that it a house of some Bihar Leader. I was shocked to heard it, then I took about 25 photographs. I was thinking while walking on the road, what a socialist man is doing in 64 rooms. Then recently Prof. Madhu Dandavate, died, both from socialist movement, he told to hospital to take entire body for hospital so that there would be funeral expenses. There are ends of the Socialist Movement.

measures!!
by niraj upadhyay on Mar 01, 2010 12:47 PM

nothing bout bringing the money held in swiss bank accounts???

i had hoped at LEAST for a Voluntary Disclosure of Income Scheme (VDIS) after all the rhetoric at the time of election...

i am not sure how many people know this and to what extent it is true but experts agree that india can repay it's debt 13 times over if all the black money is brought back to the country...

also, the general consensus estimate of the "BLACK" economy in India is that it is about 1/3rd of the official "WHITE" economy...

i don't know who the CONGRESS is trying to fool!! the aam aadmi??? well, i am one of them and i am certainly not fooled!!

Working and iving in India
by correct on Mar 01, 2010 11:17 AM

Working and living in India is becoming more painful than living in the west. Indian middle class who are working cannot evade taxes like the business houses and the politicinas they are paying the taxes through their nose and are finding it hard to have a living in India. It is better to go abroad and slog it out and settle in forieng countries because thelaw and order and living are far better compared to India and Indian govt it seems is encouraging Indians to goa abroad and settle there rather than improving conditions in India. The budget is only making harsher living conditions in India.

Good Budget
by Desi Bhai on Mar 01, 2010 03:09 AM

Personally, I am for a government's role to be that of a facilitator and peace keeper. Given that Indians are used to socialism, ie, blaming others as well as expecting from others but holding the self accountable for nothing, there has to be this so called "budget". Viewing it thus from this combinatorial prism, this budget seems progressive in that it is gently nudging the so called "aam aadmi" towards being more of a self-reliant and responsible aadmi than a domesticated pet dependent on it owner for all its needs.

Its a pity that people liku you vote. Is there anyone who is stopping you from paying taxes once in year? Did you explore ways for doing it? tax is collected for income above 1.6 L that means a person whose taxable income is 2,80,000 can save 100000 in 80C instruments, 20000 in infra bonds and bring down his taxable income to 160000 and avoid tax altogether. Income on his hands after savings will be 13333. For a person to deserve to use all the aminities provided by govt at free of cost 13333 is quite high. And beyond this, if he earns more he needs to pay 10% for another 28333 per month. I do not see any problem with this. Only thing is, he needs to use only tax savings instruments for his savings, even for that, there are quite a few options in the market varying from Post office NSC's (safe, low returns) to ELSS (High risk, max yields).

It will be very foolish to even think that govt should not collect income taxes.

Yes, if the point is about compliance and how self employeed and business class evade taxes. IT needs to pull its socks up and bring all these people into the ambit.

From our side we can contribute to this by taking bills for all our purchases, even if it means paying a little extra.
