We Indians need to repeat the Mantra of Johan F Kennedy " Donot ask what State (Govt.) gives you but ask yourself what you can give to the Nation".
Indian's have become experts to loot the tax-payers;from top to bottom. Right from Ram Mandir to Ration Card, politician, Babu in collobaration with Corporates loot the poor.
Probably, it would take another century to come out of these holy nexues and we will still lag behind with developed Nations.
In short, we can Day Dream of becoming SUPER POWER, untill we quit Kerala Crab or Marvadi Mentality.

So as per John Kennedy,we can give lots to the Nation by behaving like dumb characters for ever in spite of scandals hitting the country left, right and middle.
Bhutan is a landlocked country tucked snugly in the Himalayas with a comparatively low per capita income.Yet Bhutan is considered to be the top most as far as happiness quotient is concerned. We have to create wealth to ensure that the basic needs of all the people are met.Power and superpower ,thus are redundant concepts. In case we can eradicate hunger, provide universal primary health care and create an environment free of exploitation no one need to be power or super power.Gandhiji probably visualised a world like that. Let us first fulfil the basic needs of the people .For that we will have to control the greed of our leaders.

We may not be able to control the greed of the leaders, because they are coming into politics only to fulfill their greed. We can certainly elect leaders who has social concern. This may not happen until people are educated and start thinking beyond religion and caste.

Gandhiji visualised only one thing i.e.,departure of Brits from our shores. But others hijacked his Political Movement to suit their selfish ends.
Without taking credit of this invention from Uday I just want to put my view, Govt. should look into the matter of Common mans daily needs. If Govt. can control day to day inflation (Recent is Petrol hike) then only people will be happy & can survive. There is no use of currency symbols unless the people of India will proud to be Indian.
Just imagine: he designed the symbol for India's currency. He's officially part of India's history. 200 years from now Lalu, etc. will be forgotten, but people will be using his work daily.
Re: Lucky fellow, this Udaya Kumar.

He is officially part of Corruption as he is a SON of DMK leader and even he was not eligible for competition but under DMK pressure he declared winner..
I prsonally appreciate and congratulate Udaya Kumar for creating Rupee Symbol. But for India to raise itself to the level of Super Power,we should also have men like Thomas Edison,Michael Faraday,Albert Einstein,Robert Oppenheimer,Bill Gates,Mark Zuckerbeck,Julian Assange etc.But this would never happen in a country where man power is considered a liability and not an asset by the 1% Ruling Elite with a Zamindari Mindset.Hence forget any hopes of becoming a super powwer.

Yes because of Elite only he become winner of Rupee Symbol competition as he is a SON of DMK leader and even he was not eligible for competition but under DMK pressure he declared winner..
Supporting D. Udaya Kumar is supporting Corruption !
And the fact is every state has their own official language with english.. so this wasteless propaganda of telling " Hindi is the National Langauge" should stop and the real agony is even educated bloggers claim that hind is the national language which makes me very sad and thats a FACT...
Re: Hindi is just the Official Language of Central Govt with Engl
by Current Spider on Dec 16, 2010 03:31 PM
Yes i do agree with you Hindi is not a National Language but under Article 351 ;
It shall be the duty of the Union to promote the spread of the Hindi language, to develop it so that it may serve as a medium of expression for all the elements of the composite culture of India and to secure its enrichment by assimilating without interfering with its genius, the forms, style and expressions used in Hindustani and in the other languages of India specified in the Eighth Schedule, and by drawing, wherever necessary or desirable, for its vocabulary, primarily on Sanskrit and secondarily on other languages.
As Editor said : Strangely, there has been no felicitation from the government.
Reason is Gov. also knew that D Udaya Kumar (DMK leader son) is a Non-eligible candidate for the competition as he had submitted four design while only two was allowed. But under pressure from DMK he win the competition.
Google : "Rupee symbol maker has DMK background "
RTI Activist have already exposed this scam ..Google "Saveindianrupeesymbol"
Allocates more than 300 crores yearly for devolpment of hindi also it will not be accepted by the majority population of india ..instead of that the 300 crores should be spent on devolpment of hindi speaking states to alleivate poverty and to give primary education.. tahts a FACT..
