How rubbish is this report. There is no sign of Bhubaneswar which is the equivalent or more rated city then Chandigarh and Dhanbad..shame on the surveyors they do not visited BBSR, a state capital of poorest state of India but the center of Industries, Culture and Temples.

Of course.. TN is one of the most progressing states in India with a well rounded development in IT, Hardware, Electronics, Auto, R&D, Agriculture, education, Health..
Congratulations to it. Especially to Deputy CM Stalin. He is doing a great job in Chennai. I hope Stalin becomes the next CM of TN.

What an awful list I ever read. As per your first page u are mentioning about "demand conditions, factor conditions, context for firm strategy and rivalry and supporting and related industries -- are instrumental in determining competitiveness for a particular region or country." If this is credential points then in what sense Varanasi, Kanpur, Dhanbad are in the list. I can bet on any given day Bhubaneswar (Temple city of India)much better place to live in compare to half of the names mentioned. A city which has achieved $1 bil mark export in software, a home of all most all big software firms as well as new IIT, AIIMS, XIM and many more top institutions. With regional office of many MNCs incl South Korean giant POSCO,all most all big steel Co, thermal nd power companies ve offices in BBSR which is a well planned city not in the list. It shows how badly can Rediff goes to the bottom. Good luck next time.
