In Bombay burj-furj would hardly make matter. Mukesh's home alone is worth more than entire al-burj. A normal 2bhk would cost around 1 crore and still there are no apartments left. In IT avergae salary is around 1 L pm in hand (after tax). I would rate Bomaby as the best city in the world!

I agree to the power of the city and I agree that it's the most professional city. But I also think the city contributing 10% of factory employment, 25% of industrial output, 33% of income tax collections, 60% of customs duty collections, 20% of central excise tax collections - deserves lot more. The people don't demand it. They can't even skip their 7:32 Dadar local for a protest, for their future, for their children's future. The people have become too mechanical and robotic, without demanding what the city deserved for over 40 years. Politicians have kept them busy and divided in the name of region and religion.

Whatever output it makes, 1. No value for human life. A goon kill you. no one care. 2. Std. of living of 99% people is worse than even african countries. Evem with one crore, you get a 500 sft. apartment! 3. The city is really dirty and unhigenic. Poor infrastructure, transportation, people sh11t in open!
Obviously the worst place on earth to live. Work 24 x 7, but you can never enjoy life.

Then you should go to Mumbai which has been a shi..ole for 30 years. Now, it's slum capital of the world. People do live there (I too did it) ignoring all the cesspool on the road and around the tracks and become insensitive to the poorest people in the city and pay 10k/sqft for a pigeon hole and feel great about themselves. But I couldn't do that.
After seeing the beauty of Dubai, I remember of a song from Pardes (London dekha, paris dekha... :) )
I am an Indian working as a software engineer in Dubai for the 2.5years. This place is cool!!! Whatever it has is only records all the way!!!. Be it Burj Khalifa tower or the most luxurious hotel on earth etc etc etc..
UAE is the best country to live and especially to earn a big money as there is no income tax!!!!. I am earning 2.5 Lakhs INR per month!. Here the law is so much strict that no one dares to drink alcohal on road or tease a girl anytime!!!!.
UAE is the only country on earth where expats are more than the actual citizens but still everyone lives in Peace!!!

definitely an achievement to have no income tax. any other country with similar riches would still have taxed ppl to max. so all credit to them. they have done gr8 city planning and traffic mgmt..but if I were rich I would prefer smalltown India

Syed Jawahar, Tu phir aagaya, whenever i see any news related to dubai. i know for sure you will be their to post ur message, about ur salary, laws, beauty of dubai. Bhaijan i also stay in dubai and yes, i am also a software guy. but sir, every 3 years you have to stand in queue to renew your visa. have u seen the occupancy in any building in dubai. its less than 30%. What is your job security mr.jawahar. whenever the fire, the fire the asians first, second the fire the europeans. third, if anyone left, they fire the gcc people and emiratis never get fired. but work wise its always the other way around. its not only airtel, you name any prepaid service provider all are cheater. first they will give full recharge value later on they will deduct charges on the name of value added service without activated their services. I have rcom prepaid everymonth I found deduction in the name of callertune etc without activated it.

actually instead of just 1 building..we should try to improve one whole precinct.first central metro areas in all metros (ofcourse in dubai,all areas look good so they can focus on just 1 building etc)
