You seem to have a big grudge against IT guys. is anyone related to you in IT industries especially the prostitutes you mentioned
Dear Editor My name is Rama Mohana Rao Anne I have lived and worked in the USA on H1-B Visa no one can break the friendship and partnership between India and USA that includes the senators in the US congress and some evil and jealous countries . Make no mistake our people to people friendship Proof Hare Krishna survived all kinds of rumours and testing times ,SWAMI Vivekanada travelled to USA and addressed the US Congress to a standing ovation. Yes India will differ in opinion but that does not in any way come in between an Indian Intellectual and American Intellectual whether it is NASA ,US universities ,seminars,Doctors etc will never stop them. Likewise Hollywood technicians and Bollywood will work side by side no matter what. Yes religions differ ,so do perhaps beliefs but both believe in god and so do in democracy and peace thanks rama anne syd australia
IT industry is broadly viewed as a Global Professional body independent of any political affliations, borders, countries etc. People working in IT industry work as if they are working in a World which is without borders.
Perhaps it is the only industry in the world which has withstood political pressures of all kinds.
But it is unfortunate that people in politics are targeting it without any valid reason.
Clearly, in this day and age of Internet, US politicians seem to be drifting towards stone age. Calling Indian IT companies as 'Chop Shop' is clearly a desperate attempt to sully the fair name of companies like Infosys with hope that something will stick. In a fiercely competitive global market place, IT contracts by Fortune 1000 companies and Federal Agencies are not given to 'Chop Shops'. If they are, then the US senator is clearly insulting American MNCs and businesses as well as Government officials of acting irresponsibly. If these so called' Chop Shops' were not 'chopping the IT costs' and ensuring they IT systems were running efficiently and securely, US companies may have been out of business!! The US senator must be thankful these Chop Shops exist!!

The big question is where is all this "cost saving" that you talk about going or more accurately whose pockets are being lined with these savings. A benefit to the companies does not always translate directly into benefit for the common man.
If the benefits of these savings are not visible in a very tangible way to the common man (yes the american "aam admi"), how do you expect to gain their political support? An unemployed, laid off person does not respond to logic, but to emotion, and what they see happening to them.
This country has a long history of coining terms like this to express "us versus them" across a whole lot of groups - confederates, yankees, japs, rebels, hicks, wetbacks, spics, n*gros, n**g*s, t**lh**ds and the list goes on endlessly. I guess "chop shop" just got added to this list.
Rather than protesting this "fee", Indian government should impose an equivalent "fee" on US firms like IBM, Accenture, Deloitte who ship cheap labor from India to the US and remove their competitive advantage. In other words, for every Indian resource they (IBM, Deloitte, Accenture) etc. bring to the US on L or a H Visa, they should be charged the rupee equivalent of $2000 payable to the Indian Embassy in order to pay for the "protection" and "safety" of Indian labor abroad.
This will remove the $2000 hit that the Indian firms now cannot pass on to customers and put everyone on an even footing. It is time the Indians learned how to play hard ball and hurt others where it matters to get their interests.

Re: Indian companies should become true MNCs

By opening offices in US, a company does not become a TRUE MNC...technically and legally the company might call itself an MNC or global company.
but the truth is a company remains a pure DESI company even after hiring local (read goras) in US.
ask any infy/tcs/wipro guy in US you would know the truth..
