content is king..marketing or no marketing..
the film just drew audiences purely on its own merit to theatres.. like good movies in 70s,,where there was no hype..needed
this is a very one off movie in today's trashy times where first week collections make a movie superhit with zero content and flashy marketing.
3 idiots would do pretty well in anycase..people loved to go back again n again with friends. enjoy n then family n enjoy again.. n enjoy each experience

The budget of film 35 crores. Grossed more than 350 crores & come to conclusion that the investors(producers) multiplied their investment 10 times. Even an uneducated person knows the producers get share out of gross after sharing of theatres & distributors & others. so, how do you say that the investors got their money multiplied by 10 times

Maybe producers sold the film distributionwise of screening rights and made pucca profits even before release. In that case the article should refer outright sale of film to distributors and the total sale value to arrive at invstors' profit

You guys on the forums are impossible. Stop just spitting at anything you read here... or rather i would say read it well...
The text clearly says "The makers attribute the film's success to its script."

Idiotic...

Funny, 3 idiots being branded!!! It does nothing for the viewer except perhaps entertain that too in not so funny a fashion and how long will the brand last? As long as a year???? I too was enamoured by the hype and saw the movie, but found it to be a waste of time.

The audience today is craving to watch good movies make sense and frankly even they do not know what makes a good movie. Then there was the hype about aamir khan's new movie (must say aamir khan's strategy of hibernating has wonder wonders for himself) and all that and they made a bee line to the theatres. It is just a simple move, with nothing great for the till to clang so well but, it didn't nauseate nor did it create a feeling of rancour and so it ran and ran.

Tell me something else about a brand and I may believe, not this.

I am sure they dont care what you believe. What everybody knows for the fact is that the movie broke all the box office records & that the producers & distributors laughed their way to the bank.

What about the Chetan Bhagwat controversy (?), it was also orchestrated as well, isn't it? High time the 3 idiots come out clean on it.
