Please teach this lady that one doesn’t need so many crap degrees to solve Indian problem, an illiterate dogs roaming in any Indian street can do that. But we Indians love to rape ourselves, historically!

here is a clue that she mentioned for how the not well-to-do and middle-class can avoid feelign helpless - "it is up to the country to ensure that it has the educational infrastructure and social safety net in place so that everybody can make use of the opportunities." The Panchayati Raj helped soem areas , but many areas due to state politics suffered have no safety net in place .

Thanks Jessica. Now that you as an expat expert have said it; perhaps the govt./policy makers would at least read it. Will it pay attention and do something about it....that's a million dollar question. I work in Africa and realized that if govts and leadership is serious about something, it can be easily done, including rooting out corruption. Everything boils down to political will...and that's one of India's biggest hurdle to cross. This century, we must see visionary, selfless leaders for whom the country must come first..
