Companies need not pay exuberant salaries to IT employees. They should share profits with employees via equity.

Fake interview and fake walk-ins
by mahesh on Apr 28, 2010 03:11 PM

No IT company is seriously recruiting any one. this is hype created by media. IT jobs are not back. all IT companies are trying to utilize bench resource because new resource demand two times higher than bench resource and just for publicity TV channel and News papers saying companies are recruiting. this is fake news. please do understand this.i am ready to prove this. no of offer letter given by IT companies last one year is very low compare to previous days. I request my fellow Techies do not look for change this is not good time boos. Publicity tactics are going on by IT companies. even Civil engineers, mechanical engineers are getting jobs nowadays. this good for not IT people. one day this baseless news comes out about IT company Baghavatham. this is wake up call for IT employees.

I dont know much about IT but what exactly is the work... the term "techie" is associated with an IT guy ... why... they are doing some RND(definitely not as not even a single IT product is done in india)... as far as salary is concerned it is said to be arnd 35 to 40K.. not something really to boast about even a loan for 2 BHK cant be granted for such CTC...there is nothing to create such hype n hoopla for IT... even textiles, banking diamond sector etc is providing huge employment to ppl...

IT and IT enable service (BPO, Call Center)forms the IT industy. So, In ITeS anyone can work with basic computer and english skills. In IT the work may range from building a small time Kirana Store website to building a computer chip. Mainly people with Engineering back ground works in IT. Because of their technical education back ground IT prof are called as techie. There are different position available. Even now days mere grads are working in diff space. Yes, IT guys earn avg 40 to 50K. Some are getting 1Lakh per month and some are even getting 20k, depending upon their exp level. Not how other people percieve. Read my below post for more. All hype with little substance.

Nexus between Placement Agencies and HR of IT Companies.

Apply directly, no interview call. Give your cv to placement agency and you get interview call from same company. Anyone observed this?

Absolutely. I myself had this experience in my company. I sent cv of one my ex-collegue to HR as a Buddy Referal. No response. A few days later, same friend of mine got a call from unknown placement agent to offer a job with my company. When I emailed regarding this to HR manager,he simply replied back saying due to confidentiality he cant disclose that info. I asked this question to HR Head of company during open session,he denied answering to this question and simply told "we can discuss offline".

People working in HR,Admin,Travel with IT companies are earning 2/3 times more than their actual salary by means of having nexus with service provider. I know a guy who used to work as a Car Shuttle coordinator with salary of about 15K per month. He has his own Santro and a Flat in Vashi area.

NOTHING IMPORTANT
by udayraj on Apr 28, 2010 01:30 PM

Now Tatas, Azim Premji & nrnarayan m will do the best thing, i.e. revision of their contracts by increasing prices of their jobs at the rate of $ 39 rather than currently they have done at $ 49 . So noone has to worry because Indian companies are increasing prices of their services by 20% . So, there will not be new competition from Africans, Bangladeshis & Srilankans in future!!!. So, hurry toast for Indian ITans. Best Luck.

IT Prof -- Great for Others But Not for themselves
by Sujit Maharana on Apr 28, 2010 12:59 PM  | Hide replies

India is growing and all working population is contributing. If you see more than half of the IT guys are migrated workers from different states. They do contribute to Indian GDP and pay tax before getting their salary in hand. They spend half of their income in the Karmabhumi state. So, starting from Autowalas to Real estate all are getting the benefits. Because money is getting distributed in the economy. Its not all rosy with IT guys. They have to slug and earn their money in hard way.

Gone those days, when only engineers are called as IT prof. Nowdays IT has opened its wings to Normal Graduates. @ Raju Bhai, please come and join IT. And let me tell you the avg salary in IT will be around 40 to 50K per month. Nowdays, this is the avg salary across industry like banking, automobile etc. After 6th pay commission An exp School teacher in a remote village is getting close to 30K without teaching the students. So, things have changed a lot in the last 5 years.

Lot of IT guys are not HAPPY at all. Because quality of work gone down with so many work life disturbances. They are on the verge of changing Industry. As all industry are paying almost the same.

fact
by rajubhai shah on Apr 28, 2010 11:31 AM  | Hide replies

it is a fact that every business ycle has got peak of 10 to 15 yeras.
our country has 100 crore poulation and we want food to eat, sheters to live. soft ware business is only in air and dont grow crop or bring food for the common people of india. earnings or profits are eaten away by owners. soft ware engineers and employees only earn very high salary and life standard is improved for those people only. they can efford 60 lacs flats and eat pizzas daily....but what about their contribution to our country progress..????
so, soft ware people must think of indian benefits and not for their own. let them earn foreign currency but also let them help to common indian people.
best luck.

Dear Rajubhai, how can you say that IT guys doesn't contribute anything to country. Be it on technology front or in countries growth, IT guys are doing a lot for the country. You should confirm with income tax department, the total amount of income tax paid by IT guys in the country which in turn used for country's growth.

U need to know that Software employees, even though they earn they pay tax properly. Tax is deducted at source. U need to understand this first. Tax is utilized in Nation's progress. It is only non salaried/business people who don't pay correct tax- that is black money.
