The article is an excellent one. No words are sufficient to describe the contribution of the Great late CKP to the field of management and his concern for poor. Through the work on the Bottom of the Pyramid, Sri CKP could hit two birds at one shot. While showing business proposition to MNCs he also enlightened the world to wake up to the importance of Poor as the market and thus finding the common ground for both afresh. This concept further got extended to the poor nations and opened up plethora of opportunities for every strata of society. It is this greatness of his which will differentiate from other management professors. Actions based on his concepts will help make this a more equitable world and could become a real tribute to the departed soul.

@Ramarao.
"EDUCATION IS THE MANIFESTATION OF PERFECTION ALREADY IN MAN"-SWAMI VIVEKANANDA.
Mr.Ramamrao, i would have appreciated if u have not written the last word "Prof.Ramarao".
Can u cite the difference b/n "COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE & CORE COMPETENCIES".
Late.CKP's "BOP-ERADICATING POVERTY THROUGH PROFIT", what was the theme of that story, can u ever eradicate poverty through profits or organizations set up their business units to give away profits & if he was right ,what made him to sell his own company?
Simple he was wrong in his theory.
And the tragedy is, we had many great strategist who have never ever been named bcoz the race is with the bottom & not with the top.

I may not be a PROF, but neither am I a jackass.
Core Competencies and Competitive Advantage are usually linked, but do not have to be linked necessarily.
Saudi Arabia's competitive advantage is its God given Oil. They did not have the core competency of digging it from the ground untilt he Americans came in - I doubt even today teh Saudis have native core competency to leverage their competitive advantage on their own.

Is calling other people names your SOLE core competence? Just curious. Where did you get a degree for that?
Obviously, you must be making millions of $ (after all rupees are worthless anyway)from that for your organization. Huh..
It is very sad to hear that CK prahalad is no more. It is difficult to fill the void. He has calm temperament with excellent management skills particularly on corporate governance. Hope his works would inspire all of us to emulate him in many fields of crucial importance to day.
The write-up is a master-piece providing a comprehensive view of CK-the Management legend who discovered prosperity through poverty.Whether u r from MNC or Indian company, you are likely to benefit from introspecting CK's core theme of fortune at the bottom of the pyramid. His demise leaves a big vacuum, hard to fill, by anyone.
