After TRAI lifted restrictions, Vonage has a unlimited minutes to India in their world calling plan. Time warner gives 1000 mins. In the name of security, pl. don't trouble to people with true intention of calling their parents or relatives in India. Probably using a static IP for such calls is a good idea.
Voice will be banned. You cannot talk just with your mouth. You should only use mobile phone to talk so that those companies can become rich and netas owning shares of these companies will also become rich.

Ur 100% right...this step is mostly to boost the market shares..in a name of national secuirty...
WHEN ANY GOVT. FAILS TO NAB THE TERRORISTS, IT TAKES THE EASIEST PATH TO BAN THE ORIGIN ITSELF INSTEAD OF FINDING THE WAYS TO COMBAT IT. IT IS LIKE "NA BAANS RAHEGA NA BANSURI BAJEGI"
The policing in India & people who nagaes it have their origin in stone age. They can only think of banning as it does not require any brain storming.I hope they seek advise from IT /telecom operators to help their cause rather than seeking such blankat bans which can easily be by passsed in an era of ever changing technologies.

Re: ban all foreign courier agencies, even the italian ones

Hope your viagra order is delayed or not delivered Dumbo the issue is abt national security what can these courier agencies do for this country?
Its not a foolish move but us objecting to this move is foolish. When we are not able to track down the information on VoIP then its better to block it as it cuts the secure communication for terrorists. We always think of our selves and what will happen to us or will it cost us but never think in the national interest. Only day the we have that false patriotism is on Independence Day and Republic day. Remaining days we donot even care. Lets stop being cynical and look at the aspect in broader perspective with national interest in mind and not our stupid filthy narrow minded self interests.

i totally agree with you. While i am enraged myself because my parents use vonage in India for a US number, I think till the time methods to track calls are in place, this is a good move. IB is not asking to permanently ban it. They have asked to place the ban till a solution is found to trace calls and that is what will happen. With the ban, there will be more pressure on service providers to put tracing mechanisms in place. With an increasing number of threats from terrorists, Maoists etc., placing the ban sooner than later will help in the short run for sure. There will be a long term solution even if it takes a bullock cart on square wheels to deliver the solution. state your opinion about the speed with which such a solution will be sought by the government and not on the ban itself.
They are banning till they find a way to track it. If they do it in US we praise by saying tough security laws but if we do it in INDIA we scold them. Grow up guys they are doing it for our good. You NRI's dont blame that you cannot call cheaply. Dig into your pockets if you want to talk.
