NO MONEY !!!
by deepak on May 13, 2009 04:42 PM  | Hide replies

IPRU, dont have money to pay rent for their offices. They r pressing the landlords to renegotiate the rent. How come they will pay the salaries?Either they will reject genuine claims or will give unachievable targets and will fire the under performed.
ICICI started the policy of HIRE & FIRE in India.

Deepak,

I think the Chairman or CEO has asked for a hand loan from you to pay rents. Simply because you were not hired or perhaps fired dont bad mouth against a corporate success. In any sales oriented organisation it is common that non performing staff would be constantly and continually jettisoned. I am not an employee of that company but can understand how that is being run. You people are used to enjoy/see the comfort of working( mathlab, getting only salaries and benifits but not at all moving your limbs are your brains for the betterment of the employer) for public sector organisations under cozy laziness. No wonder if you are shocked by the way how these modern companies. Not only ICICI pru... life co bur almost all leading private insurances fired many of ther under performing staff. This is natural because these companies cannot afford to do charity by paying the non performing staff. Speak constructively. Give instances of turning down the rightful claims. Give detailes of any performing staff being fired on inefficiency grounds. 10% of the firings happen due to strained interpersonal relationships.

Mr.Deepak, let us give statistical facts and argue. If you have substance, let us put it in the press. Neutral and rational persons would certainly stand by you, Sir!

In my knowledge ICICI Pru is not hiring but firing people. Because I know that in last month or so ICICI has closed down so many spoke branches ie kalyan ulhasnagar etc. and so many jobs are laid off. Then come with public statement that we are hiring 3000 people. I think this propoganda to create public sympathy.

Jayaprakash,

You may be right but there is at least one example of removal of good resource in IPRU IT. The resource who was awarded as the BEST resource over last three years was asked to quit. You only have given the reason for the same stating 10% of the firings happen due to strained interpersonal relationships. I don't understand how the HR and Sr. Management turn blind eye on such happenings. Good people will continue to get good jobs at other places but if this continues then IPRU will do no good to its image. People who have joined newly in the organization are trying to throw old employees so that they can bring in their pawns to work under them. Character of such people also should be scrutinized before employing them in the organization. One such person has been thrown out of his earlier organization for fraudulent behavior and overall misconduct.

I fully agree with your sane arguements. Not only ICICI also amny modern Banks and Insurance companies are hiring young blood and give them great responsibilities. The last decade, particularly from 1998 onwards, the young persons ( they are basically efficient and good) developed a , perhaps an unhealthy culture copied from USA, of not sticking on to a company for more than 2 years. If 20% of the work force switch jobs because they are sent out of the present company for various reasons, the remaining 80% simply switch for a small jump. I dont argue that one should not switch for betterment. But toooo many jumps and switches naturally dilute his dedication, morale, company loyalty ets very much. This has a back lash making the employers also to get good from the hired for a couple of year and fire them to get a new one. When one executive jumps from one company to another he tends to bring in more so that he is not alone. The STCKABILITY is to be encouraged in the present circumstances of the country. Unless you are fired do not jump for the sake of few thousands. Ultimately you would feel you belong to NO company. I appeal the intelligent younger generation to give a thorough thought on this point. I have a circle of 30 friend who are less than 30 years of age, who have switched jobs at least 4 times in the last 7 years. At least two of them were simply to get a couple thousands extra or to trail with a close fried who is switching.
