by JaiHanumaan on May 06, 2009 07:01 PM

Obama is a real US patriot there .. instead of these baniya bhikhari process outsourcing .. who is selling of country for US dollars business and calling indian patriots who are against this opportunism and for swadeshi as the real problem of country.. this is a lesson greedy corporates can learn from a true US patriot who is not afraid to take action on USs behalf ..

Very bad Economics.
by chandrashekar nayak on May 06, 2009 06:57 PM  | Hide replies

Obama's policy against outsourcing is a very bad Economic policy, which will hurt American Companies more than Indian Companies. In US, Employee Cost is atleast 3 times higher than in India and outsourcing helps US Companies save substantial Cost and make them globally competitive.Obama is talking about USD 21 bn taxes paid by Outsourcing Companies on the profit earned amounting to USD 700 bn. US Companies could earn that much of profit only beacuse the jobs are outsourced. Indians' work culture is second to none in the world.Very honest, hard working people unlike Americans, who hardly works for aabout 30 hrs a week where as in India, average working hrs is about 60 hrs a week. US will feel the heat of protectionism in next 02 yrs.I wish some one advice Mr Obama properly. he is playing appeasement politics just like Indian Politicians.

Are you a US citizen? Why are you so worried about the wellbeing of the American companies, if you are not an american citizen. If you are one, my apologies.

The American companies do not exist to improve the standard of living for Indians or other third world counties. They exist so honest and hard working americans can have a good standard of living. It is about time other people stopped stealing our jobs, by undercutting us.

Solution for the Recession - Mr. President please read this line
by Anandhapadmanaban Madhavan on May 06, 2009 06:24 PM

To dig out of the "Great Recession," Washington needs to challenge China on trade and currency manipulation - but President Barack Obama and Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner must recognize that Beijing only has the leverage Washington gives it.

Message to President Obama and Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner: Fixing the trade problem with China would do more to boost demand for U.S. growth and employment than even massive stimulus spending could ever deliver.

But Mr. President is doing the other way; which is the wrong one.

by Calspadeaspade on May 06, 2009 06:20 PM

Has nothing to do with his economic policy . But the celebration of the fact that a non white is accepted by majority of the people in US. that is a mile stone. Of course Obama will and should do everything in the interest of America. If any one thought with Obama as PM India will be his bossom buddy is totally out of sync with the world.

Obama may be still good for America. Because the alternative of Mccain and sara Pauing would have been disastrous for America. India can not depend on outsourcing alone. At some point India would have lost it to other cheaper countries. You are right about Slumdog, Barking Duttloving and Modi hating Indians though. Only thing that could have united India was the common Hindu culture which is ruined by politicians on language caste and region issues.Politicians want to poke a hole at that HIndu unity. Everywhere elsepeopleunite based on religion including the west.

I Agree to u dude... all these things are fairly true...
But see the other side of the situation Obama has his country to save before anybody else. Political diplomacy comes far later in the day when no options are left. Bcoz Obama failed to generate new jobs he wanted to take opportunities from our hands and then they call america as a land of opportunities.

Correcting the problem
by sridhar srinivasan on May 06, 2009 04:24 PM  | Hide replies

Problem is American lifestyle, policies of Govt, frauds by Banks, etc. USA & UK once rich countries now having highest debt. USA Banks got money from developing countries & other Western countries & issued loans as bonds without any guarantee to its citizens. subprime, prime & credit card default with 12000 cards. All that money is nonrecoverable now. Because of their lifestyles & policies of Govt taking care of health, pregnancy, child education, shelter, jobless stipends, etc. Americans are not saving for their future or for any other thing & no family setup in most of the homes.

Well in U.K if any of there citizen has no jon the government will pay him and family. they provide free house. The important thing for living is sorted when all these recession going on...All people will get free treatment in hospitals...even some part of population has free dental treatment even in this time of recession...Here they dont have to save government will take care... 12000 credit card default is nothing for a developed country but our country cannot bear these type of lossess.

U havent seen or lived in a developed country. Your thinking obviously will be like that. I amfromIndia been to lotsof developed nation. too different. What we say loss as millions are nothing for them. Even a school student has apple i phone, sony vaio lap top!!! students in 4-5 grde always have cell phone. student credit card...More over ladies even from India who come to work here have there on stand like males, not like slaves in our country.

Obama is going in a wrong direction
by Rayalaseema Indra Seena Reddy on May 06, 2009 03:34 PM  | Hide replies

Dear Mr Obama;

The measures that you are taking are against the WTO and also leading to Shutting the doors of Globalization.

What could you achive by stopping the opportunities for India and the rest of thw world.

I guess you are marking wrong steps in the history of America.

First u said ban (restrictions) on H1B and L1 Visa ; now Restrictions on Outsourcing.

to make ur country flourish u need the service of Indians and other asian countries.

The best advice for you to stop recession and to take the world economy in the recovery path is

(1) Cut Down the Salary of the CEOs of the Top Notch American Bank

(2) Give some more sanctions on the applications of H1b or L1 Visa applications by which u can get a larger revenue.

(3) you are not giving back the tax money the people paid to u. you are again taking it back.

(4) Impose some strict rules on the Credit market before sanctions the Loans for the House

(5) Make Fannie and Fredie work in a proper way

(6) start new banks and close those banks which are incurring huge loss (gradually close them)

Dear Seena Reddy,
According to many economist , globalization concept is a failure, because
Globalization only work if every one in this world have the same
1. culture
2. food habits
3. most important is work culture,( because Chinese work 12 - 16 hrs a day ) and they don't take much holidays,
also it depends on the climatic conditions, we don't work much i accept but it is also depends on the climate, environment and culture.

Theoretically globalization is wonderful but in real life its far away from implementation.

anyway we always should not directly depend on any others foot to stand, we have make our own chairs to sit comfortable, we are good in software, so lets build products that other countries depend on us.
build capital goods ( machines to make our own motor engines )

hope all understand what i think

Mr.Guest
Even if India starts to build their own products,
who will buy all those products if there is no globalisation...
you just have to dump all these products in Indian Ocean....
just think before u speak.....
