still i think the firangs will come back in india and rule us there is not a single good politician for whom we can vote with eyes closed in todays india previously we had so many i think after having junk food and leading a junk life todays mom's have stopped making sons of the soil whom we could trust i may be one of them though i write this
If Modi has indeed subsidized Nano, I am thankful to him. This time the real benifit of it is reaching the people of India, it is not gobbled up by middle man. This subsidy is really helping the aspiration of the middle class to own a car. Instead of waiting at a busstop for the crowded bus to arrive, the poor can now afford to move around safely in a Nano. Thanks to Tata and Thanks to Modi.
The obsession people had for Chidu made them disillusioned perticularly who lost much. The worst part is they fooled themselves that their gain was due to Chidu with tall claims made by him.It is proved truth that no one is honourable in politics.
So Chidu's suddenly become the darling of a certain section of the media just becaue he asked 'a question.' There are questions galore demanding answers from the Harvard-returnee: 1) Like whether his on-the-way-out regime is actually going to do something about the Paki jihadis, other than stupid inane statements from Antony,Pranab and Manmohan at periodic intervals? 2) Like whether the latest Pay Commission, apart from fattening the useless sarkari class, is going to do even an iota to lessen India's economic woes or is going to keep India chained to the boondocks while its malovelent northeastern neighbour China races ahead? 3) Like whether it's ok for convicted criminals and terrorists to fight elections, especially if they're on a Congres or 'secular' ticket but perfectly alright for the 'secular' media to target someone like Varun gandhi for speaking the plain truth? 4) Like whether this journo would have made the same comment had the Nano and Ratan Tata chosen a Congress-ruled state instead of Gujarat and Modi? 5) Like whether Chidu is hot under the collar because the Nano's success is now acknowledged by the snooty West? Bet these journos won't have the guts to ask this one to the home - or stll finance - minister. 6) Like why farmers are still committing suicides and an extra 5 crore Indians have been driven BELOW the poverty line even after five years of the aam aadmi regime, of which Chidu was ther FM? Get the point, janab? Jaganniwas Iyer

Ok may be chidu might never hear your questions, but let me try to answer them in my honest and humble intellect.
1) Yes something needs to be done about islamic terrorism (as well as hindu rightwing hooliganism) which is hurting own nation bad. but to remind you these problems are so complex and huge that there wont be any quick fix solutions as our friends the americans have learned in their wars recently. These problems are above party politics and require longterm solutions.
2) You cannot even compare a multiparty democracy like India with a single party communist regime of China. The chinese model can never fit the ethnic diverse populace of India. China's growth is a growth is fast but India's economic fundamentals are strong.
3) I completely support your stand against congress for fielding criminals but I pity you for your opinion on Varun Gandhi, for the word that truly describes his speech is 'FASCISM'.
4) You forgot that the media has at many instances credited the gujrat development model above other states
5) I am not aware of chidu making any negative remarks about nano
6) Do you seriously think that had the BJP was in power the situation would have been any different? India economy is in a transitional phase where economic disparities will peak for a period of time before the fruits of growth will trickle down to the poorest of poor. We have to be patient. Haste will take us nowhere my friend. We should not forget the moral values that our country is found

Rahul 1) don't compare islamic terrorism with rightwing fundamentalism they are apples and oranges. The whole world has problems with islamic terrorism while only islamic mullahs, christians converting ppl like commodities, commies and pseudoseculars have problems with right wing hooliganism 2)True china and India are different in democracy and communism but its all the same in India. We don't get to choose our leaders either. Tell me the last time Ppl elected a leader in clear majority. also who is raking in all the money? netas, goondas, caste leaders, police and government employees 3)you need to know the meaning of fascism and also he is not convicted in a court of law so stop using different yardsticks for different ppl as it may be the only way for ppl like to you to prove to the world that you are above other ppl and that you are secular 4) Media was always after Modi 6) BJP is far better than Congress in terms of quota, corruption, letting quottrochi get away, not defending our country, rooting for expelling illegal immigrants from bangladesh, abolishing article 370, giving equal rights to Hindus in Kashmir, Uniform civil code, etc. Also trickling down effect will never work in India due to corruption. By the time the last drop trickles down to aam aadmi it would've been absorbed the sponge called corruption.
And don't call your ideas and honest and humble intellect when you don't know their meaning.

"... only islamic mullahs, christians converting ppl like commodities, commies and pseudoseculars have problems with right wing hooliganism".
This is wrong. I think it is the liberal Hindu the most, along with the minorities who have problem with the right wing Hooliganism. And Right Wing Hooligamism is a mild description. It is actually violent religious fundementalism.
And Right-wing (as in 'Republican') it is not. It is Religious Right-wing (like in 'Islamist', or Falangist')

Chidu made some good statements about bangladeshis as well but the party he represents is hell bent on destroying india. UPA govt went against SC orders on infiltration in ASSAM. UPA Is the most castiest and communal outfit i have ever seen in india. By the way, the journalist of this article seems to be a leftist . you see leftists have no shame in going along with a terrorists like madani

Mr.Menon apprecites Chidambaram for the wrong reason. What has Gujarat riots to do with IPL? That way Partition of the country on Religious lines was the biggest Shame and Congress Party was responsible for it!The trouble with Keralit es is that most of them are influenced by the COMMIES' destructive thinking and being used to a Moneyorder Economy from their slaves in the Gulf, they cannot appreciate individual enterprise and are generally JEALOUS of others!

Chidambaram forgot two more Shames that the party brought on the people of India. The loss of half of Kashmir to Pakis and the loss to China in 1962. Still our land is with the Chinese. What action has the congress taken to get the land back? Shame on the congress.

by deep dar on Mar 27, 2009 02:31 PM
exactly! in fact, chidambaram's response is a lame attempt at diverting the issue...something which the cong is adept!
It is natural, BJP supporters tend to hail Nano while communists/leftists criticize this new car model. You can clearly see this attitude among Bengal and Kerala politicians.

It is true, but forget the name of that Chinese company. We can soon see their plant either in Bengal or Kerala.
Re: Re: Re: Politics behind Nano
by Nibiru on Mar 27, 2009 02:09 PM
The company name is First Automobile Works(FAW), China. They had made an agreement with Bengal government.

you fool it because of congress supported trinamool congress disturbed the whole proceedings by receiving fund from other car manufacturers inside india so that nano never see light.
He has proved that it can be done in India. Entrepreneurs and Industrialists should now emulate Ratan Tata to create more and more Cheaper and better-quality Indian Product Brands and make India a Super Economic Power. Industrial houses which are the Economic Power houses, should manage to relegate political meddling to the back and ensure that India advances despite a deluge of traditional, cultural, regional and political drawbacks.
