No mention of India
by Sathish on Mar 26, 2009 01:47 PM

Just copy pasting from Forbes will result in such articles only. Reaching an overwhelming customer base in India, with an article that doesn't mention India at all..

by Bob Seth on Mar 26, 2009 11:35 AM

Most corrupt state

Be carefull when you invest in mahrashtra
Govermnet agencies are corrupt .look at CIDCO
Govt. of Maharashtra has floated CIDCO (City Industrial Development Corporation)
A State Govt. undertaking which is the most Corrupt undertaking of the Govt.of Maharashtra. Instead of being a agency for providing housing to the middle and lower class at reasonable rates it encourages price escalation for the benefit of few builders and
Bureaucrats.

Some of the Shady Deals of CIDCO include

Allotment of land under the 12.5% scheme to fictitious Companies

Change of reservation of plots for commercial use

Systematic Destruction Of mangroves and reclaiming land and blatant violation of CRZ Rules.

Railway Station Complex Scam
The station complex Built By CIDCO at Nerul , Vashi, CBD. The commercial areas was sold in the open market as carpet area ( 95-150 ) % loading in 96-98 at much higher rates. In the year 2004 The same commercial premises were sold as carpet area 30% Loading to friends and relatives and front men Mktg dept of CIDCO at a discounted price. Imagine built up area of two adjacent offices of same area are different.

Extra FSI to CIDCO directors Housing Society

Prathamesh society where the Directors of CIDCO and the PRO of CIDCO was allotted prime property at throw Away prices .

In PCMC Pimpri, there are no additional costs, they provide on the appointed date. The fee structure is also defined. No bribes but you may have to visit once or twice as per process. I took my son's BC without any bribes

i paid bribe for my Passport. Those pandus without any shame asked 100 bucks in front of everyone as if it was a fee. Irony was the board that was hanging on top of his head which said "police verification free"

In Inida we begin our life and end our life with bribe. Birth certificate, Ration card, School Admission, College Admission, Driver license, Passport, Traffic inspector daily going to office, Income tax returns, Electricity department for current lines, telephone department for any issue with phone, new house construction sanction from government, finally death certificate..we used to it for giving bribes for each and every department to complete our work quickly. As a public we need to stop giving bribes and change this system.

Corruption blocks progress
by Adhikarilal on Mar 26, 2009 09:20 AM

Corruption blocks progress at every level of Indian society and India cannot successfully compete economically without eliminating corruption and actually corrupt rulers are harming national economy growth otherwise India can grow fastest and become richest nation. Corruption can be removed by technology like internet/computerization and monitoring at all stages.

Mr.Singh, Could you kindly inform the link to this information ? This is a very serious issue and requires the attention of all Indians. The amount indicated by you from India is a staggering 7280000 crores. Indian economy was $694.00 billion in 2006.07 which means the money in Swiss Bank is equal to 2.5 times the size of Indian economy. Imagine the type of development our country can embark if we are able to get the money back. THIS CALLS FOR THE BIGGEST NATION WIDE AGITATION. WE NEED TO FIGHT TO THE FINISH. LET US JOIN HANDS. If You are ashamed of this News, then We all can correct this by using YOUR RIGHT NOT TO VOTE,
Section 49-O of the Constitution:

Did you know that there is a system in our constitution, as per the 1969 Act, in section "49-O" that a person can go to the polling booth, confirm His identity, get his finger marked & convey the presiding election Officer that he doesn't want to vote anyone!
Yes such a feature is available, but obviously these seemingly notorious
Leaders have never disclosed it. This is called "49-O".
Why should you go and say "I VOTE NOBODY"... Because, in a ward, if a
Candidate wins, say by 123 votes, and that particular ward has received
"49-O" votes more than 123, then that polling will be cancelled and will Have to be re-polled. Not only that, but the candidature of the Contestants will be removed and they cannot contest the re-polling, since People had already expressed their decision on them. This would bring fear Into parties and hence look for genuine candidates for their parties for Election. This would change the way, of our whole political system... It Is seemingly surprising why the election commission has not revealed such
a feature to the public....
This is a wonderful Weapon against corrupt parties in India ... Show your power, expressing your Desire not to vote for anybody, is even more powerful than voting... So Don't miss your chance.
So either vote, or
vote not to vote (vote 49-O)

india should be included in this list too. i really feel shameful that we're competing with countries like zimbabwe and Kazakhstan in terms of corruption. corruption has to be eliminated or reduced by any means if india wants to lead the world in the upcoming decades.

People of this country bribe officials for their work
by kasak on Mar 25, 2009 11:20 PM  | Hide replies

They have strong impression in their mind that without bribing their work is never done. So they think bribing is unavoidable. But later they blame officials, politicians and country for the high rate of corruption

let me know ... can you make your passport without bribing the inspector. can you get your pf, gratuity and other funds from govt office without bribing the officials... Bribing is every where in this world, but the problem in India is you have to bribe for the works which are your own rights.

true! but the fact is that without bribing, a civilian cannot efficiently get his work done. a freaking driver's license would be given to you on time if you've bribed. a common man doesn't have any other way to get his/her work done efficiently.

First people must question themselves is BRIBING MANDATORY? Am i doing service to the nation by bribing? What happens in the future, i lost my wealth and visit the same officials for my work:Do they do my work without any bribing.

BRIBING IS LIKE SLAPPING YOURSELF WITH YOUR OWN CHAPPALS.
