really immature to pin point and bad mouth these industries..

I think to some extent we inflate this feeling of recession and create all the noise about it so that some good techies here can be axed for no reason and companies can keep their balance sheets impressive. I too have friends there in USA and none have been reporting any probs out there with their respective companies.

Very true, as the author of the mail as not given the figure of karnataka , tamil nadu and maharashtra.
If average pf all the three states are taken the result would be more disappointing and it is because not only of recession but the Indian IT image has been badly damaged by Satyam and other Call centre where people have been caught and selling confidential data abroad by leaking it to scrupulous people.IT industry needs a through overall immediately if it wants to regain its past glory world wide.

Its good.
by Kumar Chakraborthy on Jul 09, 2009 10:52 AM  | Hide replies

Within a short span of time IT sector became one of the leading Industrial Sector. Men & women started earning min. starting salary 20-30,000. Others outside IT sector still earning only 5-6,000/month salary. Huge differences. SO its good now that IT sector is coming down. Now Govt. will focus more on other sectors then IT sector. SO a common can earn more. Also one of the reason for IT sector coming down is the payment of huge salary to staffs fr. starting itself. Even when the business was coming down there was no action taken by the mangt. So now when the scenerio has taken such an endless mode, the industry itself is closing down slowly which is good for the other sector working staffs.

Buddy, you get paid for what you deliver. Nothing more, nothing less. Let us not be a traditional oldy with no sense of current market dynamics. Imagine, in 1980s, fools around opposed to Computers just because it will eat away the jobs. Now, there is no life without it. I agree, it was a revolutionary change. But yes, IT is one of the major industries which contributed so much to the growth of the nation. Pls understand that they are not any day getting more pay than the today's doctors. When money is spent, growth happens. While the last 2-3 years witnessed unprecedented growth, I would say, it was not warranted. It should have been a steady growth even in IT. So, dont wish for any sector to fall, you are indirectly calling your country fall and yes, even other sectors naturally fall. Only wish for a steady growth, then only such hype and speculations will not be there.

Global Slowdown hits IT in Andhra Pradesh
by SURYA RAGHUNATH on Jul 09, 2009 10:35 AM  | Hide replies

30 to 40% of the soft ware employees from Andhra Pradesh belongs to Vijayawada and Neighbouring areas(Gutur,Eluru,Machilipatnam, etc). But Andhra Government is focussing on Hyderabad and other waste locations . if it develops IT in Vijayawada it will be very useful for thousands of Employees as well as Software companies. Soft ware people will work 10 to 15% of less salary compared to VIshakhapatnam and Hyderabad definitely. This will be advantage for the companies. Attrition rate will be very less as people will be nearer to their native locations. But for Andhra politicians only Hyderabad is visible.

In India only the capital cities will get first preferance. If Telangana forms and if Vijayawada becomes the next capital of Andhra Pradesh then the politicins may develop Vijayawada the way you may want it to be. That time all you Andhrites can shift to Vijayawada so visit your native places. If you want to come up in life I suggest that you be in Hyderabad, the nearest to Vijayawada else move to other bigger metros like Bangalore, Chennai, Bombay or Delhi.

Do not make such rubbish statements . HYderabad welcomes every one who has talents in software industry and capabilty to start and invest in industries. Do not think you can run software industries here with out andhras who constistute considerable percentage in international streangth of software engineers.ANdhras are most welcome in their capital even if it becomes separate union territory.TRS fellows are living like parasites in hyderabad. let them better go to their karimnagar

Use common Sense Mr. Surya Raghunath, Topic is about Slowdown in Andhra Pradesh. There would be no change if it was been in Vijayawada or any locations in Andhra. None of the companies want to know where you come from to decide location for software company. None of the companies want you to work for 10 to 15% of less salary, they want quality. They look at the infrastructure in and near Hyderabad. Dont abuse by saying Hyderabad and waste locations ,..

Mr. Raghunath,
Get your statistics right before you start commenting.... I hope you are intelligent enough to consider the location accessibility in mind before you make such rubbish statements. Even if I go by your 30% people from Vijaiwada and adjoining areas.. how about the rest 70%? You need infrastructure to attract talent from other parts of the country... Dear Surya... Software engineers are a fast forward lot.. they need places to hang out.... your dear vijaywada is OK for a ride to bhavani island.... you dont even have a good airport in place!!! And then you would say development comes with companies... Forget it dude... no one has the time to wait for things to happen.... Grow up guys... its a global economy.... Hi dude remember that Hyderabad is developed because of waste land available and Politicians want to make money . that is why they developed infrastructure. For IT Human resources are important. Attrition is also important factor.if IT companies comes in Viijayawada or coastal areas it will be advantageous.Airport is already there. it is developing and it is not getting developed because of Politicians like you .

there is no state in india or in world with the local people...ex: US..

so don't give figures...stop focusing on local and be global
But no one can live in vijayawada with out telugu.
