?????????????????????????????????

There is hardly anything new other than abolishment of FBT and few lollypops in this new budget. I think he should have not wasted time and money on preparation of this new budget.

From his point of view he has done only one good thing that is too only for the benefit of Political parties i.e. exemption for the donations made to Electorals ( Smart guy, he knows to please her Madam).

Why should these political jokers worry. They already have power for next 5 years to accumulate wealth for themselves and for their political akkaa. They have not even touched Black money issue as it is going to harm themselves.

I am not commenting on personal taxes but frankly speaking there is absolute nothing in the budget even for economy and the industry.

Employment Exchanges! Colossal Waste!
by Venkatesa Prabhu on Jul 06, 2009 01:57 PM

The government has been hoodwinking the youth of this country through establishing such useless institutions as these. How many have got jobs thru these institutions ... I do not know of anyone who has got a job through it. Am sure the same is the case with others. Why does the government want to MODERNISE some useless institution, that needs to be done away with!

Warbling Ramble little Relief..
by D goel on Jul 06, 2009 01:56 PM

D. goel , Pkl., afternoon, 150pm, Monday, 6th July , 2009.
Sri Pranab mukerji is seasoned Minister who goes in for vapid long warblings lacking substance. The truth of the matter is that Aam Aadmi is not likely to be relieved , except marginally, ie by about 10,000/- Rs or 15 000/-for elderly or others. Well the vote bank politics makes them make gestures not to be translated into relief for any body. The truth is that there is high gap between revenue and the vaulting expenditure of the state that would create inflation and misery to Aam Aadmi in coming months...D. Non Required Indians (NRI)
by roopesh raghavan on Jul 06, 2009 01:52 PM  | Hide replies

As the country focuses on its non-resident Indian (NRI) diaspora as economic growth engines as never before, one common note that some delegates of the recently held Pravasi Bharatiya Divas took home was that the non-executive Gulf Indian was a non-required Indian.

True, very few Indians in the Gulf have showed the multiplier-potential of an LN Mittal or a BN Shetty or a Lalit Suri. However, as former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee pointed out, over 50 per cent of the Rs 55,000 crore NRI earnings come through the Kerala acco-unt. And over one million out of the 1.5 to two million Kera-lites working abroad are in the Gulf. Of course, most of them are plumbers, welders, electricians etc. But there’s no denying that this huge workforce shoulders Kerala’s economy by yielding equivalent to a quarter of the state domestic product. Unfortunately, the Prime Minister’s attention on statistics has not translated to policy initiatives, say critics. The distance between Sharjah-Beirut and Sharjah-Kochi is the same. But while the airfare in the former sector is Rs 7,298, the latter costs Rs 23,000. The Centre is yet to give a no-frill budget airlines for the blue-collar Gulf worker.
