RAILWAY BUDGET
by kalyan krishnan on Jul 03, 2009 01:17 PM

Promise of good food and drinking water in train - we have been hearing this from successive Railway Ministers. Has anybody bothered to implement this - except this crap in Parliament? When the Ministers travel, they get princely treatment and they think even the common man gets the same treatment.

My dream
by Shyam Sunder on Jul 03, 2009 01:16 PM  | Hide replies

My dream is connecting all Capital Cities with fully underground Metro trains which will travel at 300 to 400 KM PH and ply daily. These will be point to point trains. If that comes we can save a lot of time and money. Normal trains can continue to run within the state between all stations. That will reduce the crowd and also improve the revenue. When will it be possible in India. There are machines to dig tunnels underground at very fast phase, no land procurement required, no railway crossings or accidents, but where is the will?

THE MOST IMPORTANT IS CLEANINESS IN STATIONS AND IN THE COMPARTMENT PURTICULARLY IN THE SECOND CLASS THREE TIER COMPARTMENTS, IT IS SO MUCH DIRTY AFTER SOME TIME THAT PASSENGERS CANNOT ENTER IN THIS. VERY FREQUENT CLEANING SHOULD BE DONE IN EVERY STATIONS OR IT SHOULD BE GIVEN ON CONTRACT AND THE CONDUCTOR SHOULD SEE THAT IT IS DONE. EVEN AFTER COMPLAINTS , THE AUTHORITIES ARE HAVING A DEAF EAR FOR THIS.
I DO NOT KNOW WHETHER THIS MESSAGE WILL REACH THE CONCENRED. IT IS MOST IMPORTANT THAT THERE WILL NOT BE A CONTAGEOUS DEASES WILL SPREAD IF SOME PASSENGERS ARE HAVINS

Many times, Railways had taken necessary steps to keep trains clean and neat - like when they introduced Gitanjali Express for Mumbai- Kolkatta route, but passesngers did not maintain its cleanliness. Commuters should not throw all kind of waste material in trains to avoid dirtiness.

Byapanhalli will be one of the best stations in the bangalore, much bigger than the City railway station as it includes the Metro station too. Should reduce the traffic congestion. At last something for karnataka

Better Passenger Amenities, Safety & Security of Passengers
by ravindra avsare on Jul 03, 2009 01:10 PM  | Hide replies

Everyday more than 12 passengers are losing their iives while travelling in Mumbai's suburban locals by falling from running trains due to over packed trains. What Mamta is going to for their safety? Is making 50 Railway Stations updated with world class amenities is necessary when there are no sufficient and moderately clean urinals and toilets at suburban railway stations?

Airlines Ploy!!!
by Mr Lee on Jul 03, 2009 01:08 PM  | Hide replies

i believe India is prepared for superfast/bullet trains and we have the sources of funds too. but it seems that the airline companies are bribing railway ministry heavily so that they dont okay the plan as that would directly affect their business.

just imagine a train moving at 200 kmph...will take about 6 hours to cover Delhi-Mumbai. a flight for the same distance takes about four hours if you consider the time taken for journey-security checks. AND IMPORTANTLY, TRAIN TICKETS ARE LIKELY TO BE LOWER THAN AIRLINE TICKETS.

further imagine, would anybody take a short distance flight - UNLESS TRAIN TICKETS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. Airlines will be completely out of business.

The problem with lenin "comunist" is that they want to stop evrything what other want to do and they do not have any solution to themselves, you see the situation of Bengal what great they have done there after 30 years of rule, It is one of the disturbed and poor state of India, even Kolkata lost everything is competetion of New delhi and Bombay,,
