Tata has done good job but .....
by karthik sarath chandra on Feb 26, 2009 02:38 PM  Permalink

The problem is not with the car but the traffic congestion it would create in all the cities. This car should be targetted more to towns and villages so that the indian middle class would be able to realise the dream. Cities are already filled up with cars bikes buses and auto with all the pollution. Hope this nano has some quality checks on pollution which is a very important factor

Now we need to see whether this car can burn rubber when it hits indian roads in March. nevertheless, it is not a mean feat by any stretch of imagination. Now i urge Mr. Tata to try his hand in medicine if he could come out with a " truth drug" which can force our much-maligned tinpots to gorge everything. i warrant, mr. tata u can deliver as u have the MIDAS TOUCH. Please for india's shake don't flick this downright.

Sedan car owners - beware
by Pochayya on Feb 26, 2009 02:35 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Nano will make the roads conjussted forcing Sedan car owners to dump their cars in garaje. It is high time for foreign cars like Scoda, Toyato, BMW, Aady and Mersidees to come up with Nano type cheap cars to counter the compiticion.

Why not to Miss Mammata Bannerjee? Because of her only the car has been able to see the road. Other wise the NANO would have languised in the marshes of sunderbans.

The first car should be given to the customer who has the first booking . alternately the car could be gifted to Modi Ji for his timely help in getting the factory moved from WB to Gujrat .

TATA'S NANO - A JEWEL IN INDIA'S GLORY
by Abhay Saini on Feb 26, 2009 02:30 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is rally a marvel piece and demonstratio of Indian ability to pruce a product at a price range which can bring trillion dollars to India provided we place the product across the world as an export item lest others matches their efforts to notch up the market much earlier than us though the entire story of concept, design, invention, cost cutting and its shine was invented by the top indian brains.

I can write volumes on this JEWEL but the most important aspect of this rare of the rare feat is "Have we leveraged this opportunity to encash on our outreach to international players, our allies in international context, SAARC members and even our next door neighbourer Pakistan as a gesture of goodwill to gift first few hundred cars. This ia a soft move of the "SMART POWER" only a few visionaries can appreciate.

A million dollar thought to consider by Hon'ble Sir, Ratan Tata Ji.

Ex employee of Tata clan.

good post..export is where money is..car manufacturing has big future in global markets.hope india can cash-in on this.(but they have to improve exterior design)..really if the exterior of Nano was good ,it could compete with Mini cooper and volkswagen even..

for all its industrial prowess , China is still not a big player in global car market. Will India be able to get a headstart in this ? looking at Nano..everything that global market wants is there except exterior..
will India learn this on the run ? ..as you can see in clothing and other consumer products..China has caught up with West in price, quality and even design..
I really hope India can do it..if they dont ..it will be due to lack of info and smug attitude..
