Service Tax
by Mudit Agrawal on Feb 16, 2009 07:17 PM  | Hide replies

Firstly this is very amazing that the tax is levied and charged without have any "Act". So firstly there should be a service tax act. Secondly it is very strange to have such a high rate of service tax i.e. 12.5 %. it should be gradually decreased year by year. Moreover there must be exemption limit like inocme tax and if receipts go over that limit only the difference amount should be liable to service tax and not the whole amount right from beginning.

Firstly ,chapter v and vi of Finance act are statutory provisions for collection of Service tax.you may call these provisions as service tax act if it suits you.Secondly there is exemption limit of Rs 10 lacs ,except for GTA service, for payment of Service Tax.

Dr. MMS is the only option as PM if India wants to be Superpower.
by Amit Arora on Feb 16, 2009 05:41 PM  | Hide replies

Dr. MMS is the only option as PM if India wants to be Superpower.
When whole Europe, US, Japan and whole world are in recession but India is still growing because of Dr. Manmohan Singh.
Because of Dr. Manmohan Singh 1991 Economy liberalization policies India is able to achieve 7%-9% GDP growth from last 18 years.
And still growing with 7%-9% GDP.
Advani can not beat Dr. MMS on Economy growth , Progress and knowledge of Economics.
So he started new 100 year old Agenda Swadeshi 2.0.
What he thinks Indian are fool.
Only Sing is King.

May be Dr. MMS has got quite a few supporters on his face value, but his sense of economics is debatable. 2.07 farmers committed suicide over the period of liberalisation. What a sense of progress, over 83 crore live on less than Rs. 20/- a day. And about knowledge of economics, really, no sane person can beat our leaders. When the whole world (including US) is abandoning nuclear tech as a sustainable source of energy, MMS goes for it and pays Rs 3000 crore to US nuclear waste traders for importing radio active waste into our country. Does any one know, this amount is more than the recurring expenses by US Army to undertake the last Iraq operation? When the whole world (including the US) is trembling with a fear of an emerging economic crisis, and changing their domestic policies towards a more state controlled one, Dr. MMS is clamouring for policies of liberalisation. Certainly, he's got a deep sense of economic adventurism. But why he is taking the lives of the millions of poor people of India for a ride.
may be what vikrant jogelkar said about number jugglery, sound irrational for our pseudo nationalists aspiring to see India as a super power (even MMS may not be able to define it), we are real fools to be victims of a propaganda of a 'shining India' when the reality is that, we are already in the abyss of destitution and the aspirants of superpower India will ace the first fall of the guillotine. Wait for the organised service sector to crash. three cheers for MMS!!

you seem to be crazy. if everyone thinks like you, literally the country would be wiped out. It makes sense to protest and object in a constructive manner.
