Have you checked the houses and consumers connection. Many of the consumers have stollen the connection and enjoying the water supplied from DJB. Say in Tughlakabad Extension. Many musclemen have installed their own submerssible water pumps and supplying to local residents illegally. Even people who have installed submerssible pumps on the pretext of Masjid or Mander are supplying water to locals in this area. There is lot of water theft. DJB persons comes and collect some money from these people and nothing is happening.. water comes after 3-4 days (no fixed time). In the nearby Jhuggi cluser of govindpuri they are having water for 3 times in a day (politicians must have vote bank there), but we are getting in 3-4 days for 40 Minutes...
What we need is political will power to fix a large number of social probels such as a) population; b) water scarcity; c) pollution of all kinds; d) sub-standard health care facilities etc etc etc etc etc etc

no big deal... both the states suffer draught... but chennai comparitively not much since coz of the recent down pour... but rediff should put picture that makes some sense :)
The Delhi water supply and water problems are because of DJB only and these jokers are themselves solely responsible for the water woes in Delhi. give me three years and I will guide you how to have surplus water. jain

easy to say but difficult to do. why always blame authorities and politicians. have you looked at your own contribution towards system and society.

It appears that you have hand and glove with DJB. Is it necessary to have a government agency to supply the water. Please bring one service provider and see the difference. Those who do not want to pay their bill may be foot by delhi government. We are habituated of ineffency. (think your life without mobile)

delhi or any other part of the country does not belong to a particular group. Any Indian can go and work anywhere. Who has given you the right to speak against the constitution or the basic idea of union of states as our country is. It is people like you and raj thackeray who need to be send to Tristan d Cunha the lonliest island in the world (Pacific Ocean) Be Indian regionalism will destroy the country.

I do not understand why such parochial statements are made. If UP bhaiya, Bihari or anyone from other state look up for living and migrate to any palce in India what is wrong. First of all blame the politicians and babus who have developed our country partially than concentrating & developing the entire country systematically.

Abolutely right, any body from India from any region has right to live any part of country whether its Delhi or Mumbai.
I am from Delhi and know very well, Delhites are not like thakres, all are welcome there.

Rubbish and pure rubbish. It appears that India's all problems are due to fellow Indians from the states of UP and Bihar. Perhaps you have not faced real problems in your life dear. You may be lucky but do not hold un-lucky ones responsible for everything that goes wrong in our country. Have courage to be correct pelase.

In fact, if he checks where his grandfather was born, the place would not be Delhi. In fact, one will not find more than ten thousand people in Delhi (except Jats and Gujjars, who having been living here since time immemorial) who would have lived here for more than four generations.
Water conservation is a virtue to be practised by everyone. Install water meters in houses and charge for the excess. That way, these water wasters will mend their ways.
